Tbh, I love and hate this palette. I want to wear it day and night, yet it offers me shades for nighttime. I don’t rate it worse because of that. All shades are beautiful but if I wear this daytime it’s too much.
But if you like smoky colors have a lool at this gorgeous palette.

One of my favorite Sleek palettes. So pigmented! I am not fond of the greens in this palette, but everything else is a win. It is limited edition, but still available on the website. I recommend getting it!

I know this is a LE palette for last autumn, but I know it’s still available in some places, so I thought I could still write this review.
The palette has got very nice packaging as Sleek products always do. I’ts very sleek (no pun intended) and travel friendly. It can be a bit hard to open though. The colours themselves are just my kind of colours, dark jeweled tones. However, the quality varies. Some of the colours (such as stallion, valley of diamonds and simbad’s seas) look great and have brilliant pigmentation, whereas some of the are just ridicilous and chalky. The gold shade (gold souk? can’t remember right at this moment) is a brilliant exampe of that, it’s super chalky and barely shows up. Also the shades sorcerer and black magic were huge disappointments, as they looked like gorgeous dark blue shades in the pan but on the lid they look just plain gray. The wear time on these isn’t the greatest either.
Overall I think it’s good for the price, and there are some really nice fun colours in the palette, so if you don’t mind a few misses, you should get this. Personally I got this as a more of a going out-palette, so I can deal with its flaws as I don’t want to pay a lot of money on colourful eyeshadows that I only wear for going out. They look really good on top of a black/coloured base, which helps with the bad shades.

A quick review for this new palette. I am not certain, but I think it could be LE. Grab it while you can, as it is lovely. A wonderful mix of perfect smokey eye colours, that stray from the norm just enough to add glamour and interest. Excellent value and quality. Another win.

If you’ve never bought Sleek palettes in person and are considering purchasing online, please be aware that on some sites the photos make things look quite a bit larger than they actually are. Size wise, think I-Phone, not I-Pad. Now that’s out of the way…
“Arabian Nights” is a smokey-eye dream come true. As with the other palettes, we have six on the top row, and six on the bottom and whoever created this palette was an absolute genius – it’s sexy, it’s smoky, it’s mysterious and even if you think some shades are too heavy, dampen your brush and use them as a liner.
We start with Scheherazade’s Tale, a sort of beige-y brown with a bold metallic sheen. Application is a breeze, and the colour is absolutely excellent.
Gold Souk is an enchanting warm gold and the finish is both sparkly and metallic … it’s not duochrome by any means, but it does change quite beautifully in different lighting.
Aladdin’s Lamp is a much smoother light sable brown and again is a warmer shade with a somewhat frosty hint.
I think Sultan’s Garden (a gorgeous, stunning smoky green which also carries a bit of gold sparkle) is my favourite. It’s quite a bit sheerer than the other shades, but for me thats a bonus – it’s very work-friendly. But gosh, that green…I could roll around in that colour forever. It’s astonishingly beautiful.
Sultan’s Garden leads us straight to Hocus Pocus, a somewhat lighter green. This is also a bit cooler in tone, and this is what hunter green would be if it grew up in a magic castle and bathed daily in moonlit shadows.
That actually made sense to me, but it came out weird 🙂
Then we’re sailing in Sinbad’s Seas – this is by far the strongest shade in the palette and by golly it’s earned its spot. This is blue. This is a strong, gorgeous, any-tone-can-wear-me blue. I don’t like blues too much but I’d buy the palette just to have the blue. I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed, but this shade also comes across as *almost* duochrome.; it’s a very subtle change, but it’s a change indeed.
Genie kicks off the bottom line and I have to be honest – this one did nothing for me. It doesn’t want to be shimmer…it’s certainly not matte..and I do think this one is the “gimme” of the palette. As in, “Wow okay we have 11 great ones…anyone find a spare something to fit in the palette?”. Know what I mean?
Black Magic is a sort of very dark blue with a hint of black and a bit of glimmer. This one is absolutely fantastic to use in your crease, or as an eyeliner.
Stallion (and I have no idea what inspired the name) is meant to be a sort of burgundy, and it actually looks like a bloody brownish red and it’s a very unusual shade…try it though. I think you will love it because it IS so very different.
Sorcerer is a very dark blue/black but unfortunately on me it looks like a bruise. C’est la vie!
Valley Of Diamonds is another little bit of genius. A true merlot, but with the most intriguing little hint of something darker. It’s an excellent shade to play around with, and again I think you’ll have fun using this in quite a few ways.
1001 Nights. This almost works. Almost. It does go on black, but even with primer and fix spray this one refuses to play nicely and it looses its blackness disappointingly quickly.
Overall, this is a true gem of a palette. I have been told that Sleek *will* stop selling this one by Christmas, so get it now while you still can.
