This review is for the dream girl palette that was also apart of the summer 2015 collection. I can’t find the page for it. I got this from kohls and when swatched the colors are beautiful! I was specifically drawn to the purple, olive green, and teal shades. Unfortunately those were the least pigmented colors when applied to the lid! They were nearly non existent even with primer. I dug way into the pans and got nothing. Mostly just fall out glitter on my cheeks. The only two colors that are ok are the matte brown and satin orange bronzey color. I did like the big mirror that came with the compact and it didn’t feel like a hunk of cheap plastic. But all in all this palette was a disappointment.

when I swatched it, I loved the pigmentation. However when I tried to apply it on my eyelids with my brush it wouldn’t show on my lids…I use UD premier and even Lorac’s eye primer. Too bad it didn’t work for me, I loved the colors.

The palette is part of the Lorac 2015 Summer Collection; it’s an Alter Ego Palette in Heartbreaker. It’s an Ulta exclusive and costs $24. I had to ask for it at my Ulta, and they brought one out from the stockroom.
I am a huge fan of my Lorac Pro (previously owned Naked palettes and was shocked by how much better the quality of Lorac shadows are), and while deciding whether or not to purchase the Lorac Pro 2 I stumbled across this new one. It is almost half the price of the Lorac Pro 2 and contains some very unique shadows. However, while researching the product I found very few reviews and I heard people mention that the palettes from previous Lorac Summer Collections (which have almost identical packaging to the Heartbreaker palette) were a much lower quality than the pro palettes, and I was nervous that was the case with this palette even though I had seen no poor reviews that suggested this.
So I decided to buy it keeping in mind Ulta’s return policy. I am SO glad I decided to purchase it!! I don’t think that the quality of the shadows suffered in the slightest. They are just as buttery and blendable as the ones in my Lorac Pro.
All shadows are very pigmented and stayed in place on my lid with primer. The colors are all unique and unlike any others I own in my other palettes. Even though I rarely (if ever) venture from nude shadows, I found these colors to be extremely wearable and think I will use them often. The muted pink (second from the left) pairs particularly well with browns (warm or cool!). I especially adore the navy, it’s shockingly wearable and blends with the other shadows really well. The aqua shadow is beautiful and performs better than any I’ve seen that are a similar color; it builds really well and is true to the color you see, not a sheered out version. The highlighter on the bottom right of the palette is a perfect pearl. It is also very quality and I find myself reaching for it every time I highlight, even if I’m using another palette. I was honestly shocked at how well these shadows performed!! My only complaint is that the espresso brown with gold sparkle (far right) is not as interesting as the other shadows and doesn’t mesh particularly well with the other colors. That being said it is still as quality as the other shadows and I’m sure I will make use of it!
When I first got the palette is swatched the shadows without a primer and they went on fully pigmented, I was seriously impressed by the intensity!!
The packaging is plastic, but it’s still sleek like the other Lorac palettes. The color of the packaging (neon pink) is a little off putting to me but I don’t particularly care because the packaging is sleek otherwise. It is plastic but I don’t mind, especially at such a reasonable price! It has a much larger mirror than the pro which I reallyyyy appreciate. Seriously the mirror is super helpful and seems kind of glamorous to me.
Overall I am extremely pleased with this product!! Totally recommend!
