TLDR: I like this for removal of the remnants of an old tan before you apply a fresh one. For some reason it can tingle/sting a little sometimes so you might want to do a test patch before applying all over, especially if you have sensitive skin.
I wanted something I could use over large areas to remove old, leftover tan before I applied a new one. I’d already purchased the St. Tropez Tan Remover Mitt (which I love), but the mitt takes patience and elbow grease to buff all your residual tan off. I wanted something that was a bit less work. Enter this stuff.
It comes out as a foam and all you do is rub it in, let it sit for a few minutes, and then wash off in the shower. The scent isn’t too bad, but it’s sticky to the touch while it sits, and it can sting/tingle my skin in places. I could definitely see it irritating someone (my skin is sensitive) and I don’t apply it on my face for this reason. I’d recommend doing a lil test patch before applying all over, just to be safe.
The tan doesn’t just rinse away effortlessly but this stuff does seem to “loosen it up” so that most of my tan came away with just bar soap and a wash cloth. I can then follow up with my exfoliating mitt to buff out stubborn patches. Like I can tell a difference; I have a lot easier of a time using this than violent scrubbing alone, so it did exactly what I wanted it to. It’s especially effective on tanners I use at home – I had a salon spray tan that put up a little more fight, but the remover still helped. I haven’t really used it against streaking or orange palms or feet but I think you could, especially if your tan is fresh.
I’m happy with this and I’ll likely repurchase when I run out.
