I was hoping that this “spray” would be a great alternative to the bug sprays out there, as they tend to be full of nasty chemicals I would not want anywhere near my body. I always get eaten alive my insects in the summer, so I was looking for a product that was natural and effective. While this product boasts all natural ingredients, I have not been able to put it to the insect test, due to the fact that the smell is so awful, I cannot bear to use this product for more than 30 seconds. It is the worst smelling insect repellent out of all of the insect repellents I have tried in my life- chemical and otherwise! Bug sprays do not smell good to begin with, but this one could repel humans in addition to pests! I have since investigated and found two alternative insect repellents whose smells are much more tolerable and whose formulas contain no nasties: The Honest Company Bug Spray (which smells strongly of wintergreen) and Zoe Organics Insect Repellent (whose scent is not nearly as strong as the other two). These two options are more expensive at $13 and $20 a 4 fl. oz. bottle respectively, but they surpass the Puracy product in quality.
