My first ever DUO lash adhesive came in a squeeze tube … and it smelled awful. Because I had a hard time squeezing out the right amount, I ended up wasting quite a bit of adhesive. But then, I would squeeze the glue onto an index card and “run” my lash strips through the glue resulting in a messy surface. I’m really glad that DUO came out with brush-on options — I will be reviewing the clear one, they also have a brush-on version in black.
Application-wise, this is mess-proof. The brush is thin, and you can apply glue more precisely onto the lash strip. The clear version comes out as this bright, iridescent shade of transparent blue that dries down to clear within a minute so you’ll know when the glue reaches a level that is tacky enough to apply your lashes. Wear time is a couple of hours, great for a night out but not for the whole day. I’ve had recurrent issues where the inner corner of my lashes would lift (I also have oily eyelids). Recently I’ve used these on my Velour lashes — the $26 a pair mink lashes that you don’t want ruined — and it was fine! There was no lash fallout, tugging, or general “destruction” of my lashes with the use of this glue.
I’ve never had an issue with glue spilling out from the tube, but I let one of my friends borrow mine and it came back gunky near the opening (still usable!) — so definitely keep the cap closed on tightly!

Every Professional Make-up Artist knows that Duo is the Industry standard adhesive for false eyelashes, and the price is very affordable. I’ve been using the squeeze tube for 20 years.
Bought this brush on version at MAC on the weekend to give it a shot and used it for the first time today (Monday) on a TV series I am on. Now this brush on version is on the right track for efficiency, however the screw-top design is horrible, as large copious amounts of product squeezes out around the edge where the lid meets the tube when you carefully screw the brush back in, which of course results in a huge sticky mess and a lot of wasted product.
Overall Duo is a great product but the poor execution of the screw on lid design misses the mark in efficiency by a large margin.
Back to the good old standard squeeze tube for me.

I got the dark variety and while I think it’s convenient to use, doesn’t smell nasty like the Redken but it doesn’t last. My false lashes seem to always come off at the ends with this. I’d like try a more higher end lash glue like house of lashes.

Duo adhesive is one of the better-for-the-money brands. I prefer the kind in the tube, but the brush-on is OK in a pinch.

As someone who uses fake lashes everyday, the glue is super important. For years, I wasted glue by squeezing a pea size amount on whatever surface was available, dipping a q-tip in it, and applying it to the band. Inevitably, lids and pieces of paper all over my vanity would be covered in dried piles of eyelash glue. Gross. This brush on adhesive saves product, is quick and easy, and holds my lashes perfectly all day until I have to take them off at night. Because it’s so strong and because I use it daily, it has started to dry out the inner corner of my eyes, but I think that’s my fault for using it everyday and then ripping off my lashes instead of using a dissolver.
