I saw the review below and wanted to share my experience with this product.
I used a charcoal powder everyday in the morning only for about 3-4 months until the product ran out. I did not repurchase because I honestly could not tell that much of a difference when I used it. Skip to a couple of weeks later and I went to the dentist for my bi-annual cleaning and I had 2 cavities. For reference, I have not had a cavity in a long time. My dental hygiene routine did not change at all other than using the powder before toothpaste every morning. I never repurchased and have since had no cavities.
Not sure if this was just coincidence or not. But, I won’t keep using it to find out.

For over 10 years I’ve tried probably every tip, trick and toothpaste/mouthwash known to man, all in an attempt to get rid of that yellow tinge your teeth take on as you get to a certain age in life. I tried the Colgate Glamorous White products for over 30 days with little success, I used a whitening ‘tray’ system from my dental hygienist which left my upper and lower front teeth sensitive to all food and drink that’s even 1 degree less than room temperature (and 4 years later has never subsided). I tried organic whitening toothpastes, I tried anything and everything that was recommended to me. In the end it was something as simple as a $3 packet of Activated charcoal powder purchased online that worked for me and more or less instantly.
Is it messy? Yes absolutely! Do you have to use consistently? Of course! Nothing is fuss-free about using charcoal powder (you can use any brand) but once you get into a routine with it, you’ll discover it really isn’t that difficult! Here’s what I do…
(for reference: I only brush front upper and lower teeth that are visible when smiling or opening my mouth, not entire teeth).
So firstly I dip slightly damp toothbrush into charcoal powder so that toothbrush has a very generous coating (run under warm water and then shake all excess water off). Try and ensure teeth are as dry as possible as the effect will be that much more dramatic (when saliva mixes with the powder it reduces the results). For 30 seconds brush your teeth as normal. Rinse brush and replace, take a mouthful of water and spit out from a close distance into your cupped hand. Do not omit this part as the initial watery charcoal mixture will otherwise hit your wash basin and droplets of it will fly EVERYWHERE! Rinse hand clean and then repeat.
After that you can swish water around in your mouth and through your teeth to disloge the charcoal that will lodge there and spit out into the wash basin as normal – from a sensible distance. It will coat the surface of your tongue too but you’ll quickly learn to scrape it off by sticking your tongue out and pulling it back through your teeth and spitting out or by simply using a tongue scraper.
Trust me the more you get into this routine the more it will become like 2nd nature. Chances are yes you’ll have to clean the basin afterwards but despite that and the small amount of hassle, tell me…HAVE YOUR TEETH EVER LOOKED THIS NATURALLY WHITE? Not the super-duper dentist white or what you see in Hollywood, but a ‘normal’, non-TV real life natural white? Well…unless you’ve had a professional treatment done, I doubt any toothpaste or mouthwash known to mankind can replicate this effect in just one application! If so I sure have yet to come across it! Especially without causing other problems such as sensitivity.
For reference I tried a few whitening including charcoal-based whiteninh toothpastes and stopped using charcoal powder for a while, just to see what would happen, but eventually switched back to charcoal powder as the results were abysmal. But as I’d pretty much already predicted, and said so many times in the past during reviews on here…there’s no such things as shortcuts, magic pills or quick-fixes in life. You want results then you got to put in the effort! No pain no gain!
Just remember not to take any medication close to the time that you do this as remnants of the charcoal powder will linger on your tongue and in your mouth and eventually end up in your stomach. Harmless but can potentially ‘soak up’ and negate the effect of any medicines or supplements.
Love the effect and will continue to use charcoal powder for life.
