   pros:
   -doesn’t dry out my skin
   -effective
   -cheap

   cons:
   -nightmare to remove from skin (soap and water won’t do the trick – you have to scrape it off manually)
   -typically requires multiple applications
   -time-consuming

   it works, but acetone + cotton balls wrapped in foil works better imo. or, like, a peel-off base coat. this isn’t worth it.

   No Rub Gel is a gel nail polish remover that claims to remove glitter simply and easily in only 4 minutes. Even glitter and hard to remove polishes. I first saw this on YouTube when CutePolish did a review of it. It worked so well for her, that I added it to my shopping list and after a few weeks I finally found this in my local WalMart. There are two formulas. The one I chose was specifically for “Glitter & Nail Art”. The directions on this are simple and straightforward.

   3 easy steps.
   1) Dip fingertip into gel to fully coat
   2) Remove from jar and wait 4 minutes
   3) Press down with paper towel and wipe off.

   Sounds foolproof and easy right? I have been using the foil/saturated cotton round x 4-5 minutes of waiting so it’s basically the same thing just this gel is so thick and doesn’t drip so you don’t need the foil or the saturated cotton ball. The first ingredient is Acetone so it’s not much different than my current method and not any better for my nails either. I have tried this 4 separate times both with a full glitterbomb nail, a glitter accent mani that had tiny glitters down the center only, a glitter topper that was really sparse, and even on a pedicure. The first thing I noticed when doing this is how cold and uncomfortable my fingertips felt and it was an odd not good at all feeling and I was watching the clock wondering if I should really continue with the trial or remove it immediately and questioning how harmful this potentially was. I left this on for the full 4 minutes every time. When it came to removal, the polish came off in patches and the glitter remained put. I repeated the gel application to see if a second coat and 4 more minutes would do the trick. Here we go again with the icy cold fingertips and uncomfortable sensations and I was never so happy to remove this. The gel starts to dry and becomes very sticky, tacky, and like jelly and is a mess to remove and clean up afterward. It didn’t even take off the glitters with the second application and I had to pull out the 100% acetone and do the trick manually. I wanted to love this stuff as I saw it on the video work for CutePolish and I had read beauty blogs where it had also been successful and saw the posted pictures of it in action. I gave this 4 tries and it has been a complete and utter disaster each and every time and I had to use the regular acetone to finish the job. I doubt I have a bad formula and I feel like the difference is that I used this on a manicure or pedicure that had set firmly and dried completely and had been worn for 5 days or longer before removal and I think that they were using fresh manicures that didn’t have the cure time a regular mani does on an ordinary person. I know that beauty blogger/vloggers change polish and do a lot of swatches so it is reasonable to assume that the mani they tried this on was fresh and not set for a good 24 hours first. I am going to just toss the rest of this out as it isn’t worth returning and wasting my gas for what was only around $3.50. I don’t recall the price but I’m certain it was $3 something. It might work for you, but for me it was total crapola. I included pics to show my results. It’s not pretty. Like I said, Crap-Ola with a capital C.
