After finally growing out my nails again, started looking around for cheap nail colors. Picked up this cute little bottle of French White, base coat and top coat. Before applying, gave my semi-weak and ridged nails a coat of Sally Hansen’s fortifying base coat. This Sally Hansen formula is good for strengthening, but NOT so good as a base coat because polish does not SLIDE easily on your nail post application. So on top of that used Wet n Wild’s base coat. Very effective in creating the perfect smooth and slippery surface.
Note this French White Wet n Wild polish is a little difficult to apply. You need to control the amount loaded on the brush, and it can apply rather streaky. Two coats definitely necessary for full coverage. Use this French White because I have a red undertone to my hands. If you do too, AVOID red and orange colors, and reach for cooler tones like white or bluish tones greens or blues. Very light colors on your nails are elegant, and lengthen the appearance of your fingers too.
Topped it off with Wet n Wile clear protective coat. This doesn’t really offer that glossy shine that I love, but at 99 cents who’s going to complain?
The good is that here it is five days later, and my manicure is relatively chip free. For the price an excellent value, and love the redesign of the bottle. Just hoping they add more colors.
