Nailene guides are so much better than Salley Hensen ones. They used to look identical with very slight curve, making the french tips look almost straight on the nails. The new ones I just picked up were only $2.50 CDN on sale and had smaller with better curvature. The stickers stick well to the nails so there is minimal bleeding. I use the straight ones for my toes. So glad to have found such cheap but useful tool!

Not the best arch, leaks polish if you don’t repress it on nail right before applying your polish. And if you forget to press it, it will come off with some of the polish while peeling.

I originally wrote a review for this product calling them ‘mediocre’ because performance was sub par. I’d like to think Nailene must have read my review because since my d/s stopped carrying Sally Hansen nail guides (or perhaps they are discontinued?) I was forced to go back to Nailene. Since then they have new shapes, not only is their a straight cut, but a curved, and ultra curved shape. I love the ultra curved shape, it creates the perfect crescent on my nail tips (refer to my profile if you need pics).
PROS: (1) very sticky, which prevents nail polish from bleeding. I would rec. you press it to your skin first before the nails, otherwise it might tare off the base coat. Otherwise, i apply my base coat after my french to ovoid this potential problem. (2) the curved shapes are perfect for my nails to achieve the ideal french manicure.
CONS: (1) I wish it was designed so you could buy a pack of the nail shape you prefer instead of getting a ‘party pack’ i never go through the straight cut ones, so I feel like I am waisting. I’d rather just get a selection of the ones I would use.
Overall, great improvements on these, I am very pleased 🙂
