I………………. want to throw this away. This never works for me. Super sticky, never gets absorbed. Its a suicide to wear makeup on it, bc it will end up looking dirty and oily. this thing is never moisturizing enough for my oily skin as well. therez so much better things out there than this.

I have super dry, dehydrated skin and a DHC rep suggested that I use the Water-Based Moisture as a serum under my regular moisturizers because it has hyaluronic acid, which can help produce moisture. It works great. Because I’m dry, this sinks in just like water with no stickiness whatsoever, but it really does give me more hydration than a regular moisturizer alone. And it’s pretty cheap for a serum. It works even better than Neocutis Hyalis, which is almost exactly the same but extremely expensive. There’s no irritation, not even around the eye area, and it really does seem to give my skin a “drink” of water. It’s a relief to dry, chapped skin. I could not use this by itself — I am currently using the Ceramide cream and olive oil on top — but I would think this is a good choice for those with oily or combo. skin.
For those who complain that it’s sticky, I suggest not using so much product. A couple of drops on the fingers, then rub your fingers together and pat it on.

i thought this would be the answer to all my skincare needs. sadly, its really quite disappointing. the concept behind the product is genius, but it really just doesn’t work. i have dehydrated, flakey skin, but my skin also gets oily. so if i use a creamy moisturizer, i end up with an oil field on my face within a couple of hours. and without anything, my skin gets oilier as well because it over produces oil to compensate for the tightness. anyway, on to this product. the texture seems really nice…its completely clear, just like water, and feels slightly thicker and a little more gelatinous than water. just a few shakes is all you need and it spreads pretty easily. however, it never seemed to absorb completely. i was always left with a super sticky film on my face. it made my skin look shiney too. the only pro is it did seem to moisturize fairly well. however, i can’t stand the film it leaves. it won’t work well if you plan on putting anything over it (such as makeup, serums, sunscreen, etc.).
