I was really excited to try the new Neogen Joan Day & Joan Night Cream- it was an interesting concept to put together in a jar both an evening and daytime moisturizer. If this has been done a little differently this could’ve been a nice way for skincare addicts to clear up some counter space and make moisturizing more convenient. It was disappointing to see how the inside of the jar looks, and each time I open the jar to use one cream I have to expose both products to light and air, which I’m not a fan of for many reasons.
The formulas of both the day and night creams are pretty simple, and unfortunately for those of us with sensitive skin they included a small amount of fragrance in both formulas. The other disappointment is that Neogen chose not to include a lot of beneficial ingredients or antioxidants. One nice thing is that both formulas do work well with layering, although I really wish the evening formula would have been more emollient, those with normal-oily skin will probably be okay with the hydration offered by this, but those with dry skin will probably find that neither cream provides enough hydration to be used on its own.
Overall, this is a product I recommend passing on, unless you like the convenience of the jar for storage or travelling, the ingredients just are not exciting enough. If you are interested, my video review can be seen here: k
