I used this moisturizer for about a month. It comes in a jar package and has a very light whipped texture to it. It has all the makings of a good moisturizer with beneficial ingredients–peptides, anti-oxidants, oatmeal, green tea, ceramides, HA. It is very hydrating and absorbs well into the skin and is able to be used with other products without issue. What I did notice with successive use is that the texture started to change. Every time I opened the jar, the fluffy cream started to flop, fall and lose that airy texture– kind of like a souffle or a mousse. I suspect it’s because of the jar packaging and the repeated exposure to it being opened caused this effect. Maybe if it were in a tube or pump, I would like it better. Otherwise, I did use up the whole product, but I’m not sure if the ingredients were as effective.

Just finished my jar of this. For the price, I’ not sure its worth it. I was previously using DDMG by Clinique. It has the consistency of hair mousse, but upon meeting your skin, it melts into a nice cream…so the jar doesn’t last too long. It stings on acne prone areas, which was a lit bit of a surprise. This pills if I dont wait long enough for it to sink in. So all in all, meh for me.

I love the First Aid Beauty brand, so many of their products are daily rescues for my skin. My personal favorites is their Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum, their Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask, and their Skin Rescue Oil Free Mattifying Gel Moisturizer. The new First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Barrier Cream is a light moisturizer that has a whipped foamy texture. This includes oxygen on the ingredient list which gives the product it’s whipped airy texture. Some people swear by oxygen facials and including oxygen in their skincare routine. I’m not sure I’m totally sold on it’s benefits, and there are millions of websites that fall on both sides of oxygen’s potential benefits.
I find the Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream to be lightly to moderately hydrating. I have very dry skin and this isn’t hydrating enough to use on it’s own, but I imagine if you have oily-normal skin this might be moisturizing enough that you could use it on it’s own. I’m not a huge fan of the jar packaging, but with the foamy texture of this product I think it might be the easiest way to package it. Aside from oxygen there are many beneficial ingredients such as sodium hyaluronate, licorice, vitamin e, collodial oatmeal, lecithin, and a ceramide. I could see how in the summer the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream could be hydrating enough for me, but it definitely is not during the long, drying, Minnesota Winter (not for this sensitive, dry skinned Gal)!
