   For a few times it works great, but then my skin had a horrible reaction to the cream. I got a small burn from it. Ended up using it again a few weeks later and same thing happened (thought it might’ve been another product but definitely this one). I think it might be the tumeric.

   “Disappointment” is an understatement. Because I was unsatisfied with the product (I’ll get to that later), I went to the store to get a refund. However, I was told that Aveda does not do refunds (?!?). I was never informed of that – had I been, never would I have purchased a $85 cream. I was instructed to call the head office for them to redirect me to their Canadian office, who then transferred me to a store in Toronto. The manager at the store laughed when I told her that I was directed to her store while being in Montreal, Quebec.
   Seeing as customer service was dissatisfying, I ended up using the product instead of letting it go to waste. While it claims to moisturize, it dried me out. I have combination skin that can be qualified as oily. I was extremely surprised to wake up to skin that felt tight. To top it all off, it gave me a few annoying blemishes.
   I used the product with the recommended serum and it still did not deliver.

   Love the product. Not greasy, nice smell, doesn’t make my sensitive skin react. A little goes a long way. I use the regular Aveda skincare during the day, and apply this only at night. Skin feels smoother, softer. Rosacea is less. Not a miracle, but visible improvement. I agree whole-heartedly with the previous review. The jar was clearly designed for looks over function. I want to use all of the product, not dig the last bits out of multiple corners with a q-tip.

   I’ve been on a Searching For A Miracle Expensive Face Care kick again (I don’t know why; I’m not going to see 45 again and it’s been all downhill for a while now). This is the third product set in the most recent series of trials, but it is definitely my favourite of the bunch.

   Indeed, it reminds me most of the late, lamented (by me, anyway) original-formula Green Science cream, although it’s not having quite the same great effect that had – which might equally be due to the decade that’s passed since that was reformulated. It’s got a lovely texture, light but not goopy, with a nice finish to it and a typically Aveda light, pleasant herbal aroma. I wouldn’t say its effects are miraculous, but I do look somewhat better skinwise recently, a little less haggard and large-pored – which, really, what more DOES one expect from a moisturiser, honestly?

   No reactions to it so far, either in eye allergies or breakouts. It’s not drugstore price, but it’s not out of line for the kind of mid-high end creams I generally buy, and since most drugstore brands give me horrible reactions, I’m not going to complain. (I always have my fallback of raw shea butter if I want to cut back on the extravagance again.) I’ve been using it morning and evening (I don’t really have the patience for Complete Skincare Suites, although I MIGHT try out the Aveda dry brush and oil thing just for fun) and it seems to work perfectly well for both, and is a suitable base for my extremely minimal makeup use.

   My one complaint is – the jar. It’s a lovely-looking jar. The designer in me appreciates it. However, it was clearly never tested in action; the pointy faceted thing has almost squirted out of my freshly-moisturised fingers to an unhappy end on the bathroom tiles any number of times now. (The eye cream jar is worse.) At least it’s made of plastic, not glass, so I can hope when it inevitably does take a fall it might not shatter.
