I have sensitibe combo oil tzones dehydrated skin.
This has a super simple ingredient list and will work for any skin type. I’ve tried LA Roche Posay, Olay, Ponds, to Khiels, First Aid Beauty, Fresh & Chanel. So I’ve searched high and low for a good basic face cream that won’t irritate my skin and do its job to hydrate and soothe. Higher end products all contain fragrance and a bunch of unessessary gimmicky ingredients. Drugstore also have random ingredients that my skin do not agree with. I caved in to try Avene after researching the ingredients on Cosdna. The only face cream my skin liked was Chanel LA Solution 10 which is 10 ingredients for 105$ this is 3 times the amount I paid for Avene with the same 50ml of products. I am so glad I found this cream because I love its texture and packaging.
The texture is fluid but also silky and creamy as the same time.
Pros
It sinks in fast
has no residue
doesn’t irritate my skin
I feel hydrated without being greasy
Cons
Small size of 50ml , I wish it was bigger!!
I am not repurchasing because of its size. I finished this in 2 months and it hurts me to repurchase. Krave beauty Oat So Simple Water cream is very similar and its double the size for less. Sorry avene, the international tax is too high for this.

I bought a couple of backups of this last week as they were on sale. I tend to go through it quite fast anyway. The price really isn’t ideal considering that you do need quite a big glob for each use, since it isn’t as dense as other moisturizers.
Unfortunately for me (unfortunate because of the price) this is crucial to my not breaking out. I don’t use it every day anymore but the moment my skin barrier gets disrupted enough to where I feel that burning sensation I MUST use this. Layering this over the tolerance cleansing lotion (remnants of latter after having wiped off for cleansing) is the most effective- then I tend to use less of this.
Strangely the tolerance cleansing lotion plus this, the combination, doesn’t usually lead to clogged pores. However this on plain skin that was cleansed with any foaming cleanser, does cause me to get clogged pores occasionally.
Plain Squalane doesn’t work for me, except very sparingly. I think this Avene stuff strengthens or heals my skin to the point where I can sometimes go without them and be fine. Other Avene moisturizers break me out. This is the only one that works. Cerave does NOT work for me I getpimples from it!

I have repurchased. Leaves a dewy finish and absorbs quickly. Recommended for people with fungal skin issues ie fungal acne, seborrhea dermatitis, as per the detailed blog simpleskincarescience.com.
**Only seven ingredients (posted from SDM)
**Sterile packaging
**No need for preservatives as package design
**Available in Shoppers Drug Mart, online, Pharma Plus
**No Fragrance
**Moisture and soothing for sensitive skin
**No fungal triggers/acne for me
**Truly a gentle moisturizer that did moisturize but did not make acne worse when I had a flare. (La Roche Posay cleanser was the culprit from ONE use. Reviewed on MUA)
**Safe and moisturizing without causing mila for under eye area. Cerave cream is also safe but can look dry, too matt for day.
Ingredients:
Aqua. Squalane. Behenyl Alcohol. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. Glycerin.Sodium Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer.
This moisturizer contains Squalane oil. Suggested safe oil for fungal skin issues as sscs blog (link above). I also suggest checking ingredients with http://www.skincarisma.com or sezia.co.
I also use the Avene Cleansing lotion. Similar packaging with an emulsify ingredient. I recommend it as an oil based cleanser.

I am a 30 year old male with extremely acne prone skin and I have been able to somewhat control my acne though RetinA 0.1 and 8% BHA twice a week but it has left my skin dry and irritated. I have been looking and try all the moisturizer under the sun and I finally found this. I also breakout and my skin becomes red and irritated from Niacinamide which have been in a lot of moisturizer these days. If you really struggle to find a moisturizer that doesn’t clog pores and not break you out and have sensitive skin. Try this. I now have Normal to Dry skin due to RetinA and BHA this emulsion alone is not enough but when I mix two drops of the Ordinary Squalane then it is perfect. I really highly recommended anyone who are severely acne prone to try this emulsion.

It’s challenging finding skincare products to suit my very sensitive, PD, mild rosacea/acne-prone skin, but this gentle moisturizer fits the bill perfectly and its on its way to HG status! It’s super lightweight and hydrating, perfect for normal/combo-slightly oily or dry skin types. Works equally beautifully under makeup as well as a bedtime hydrator. The packaging is clean and simple and I appreciate the sterile package design. It was highly recommended to me on the skincare board and now I’m singing it’s praises!!

Best gentle moisturiser ever.

It works wonderfully for irritated and tired skin. After harsh treatment with benzoyl peroxide my skin barrier was destroyed and this emulsion helped with that in the beggining. Although i have to say that after 2 weeks of using only this my skin started to peel of and felt really dehydrated. Also i think it clogged my pores a little bit (I’m not sure though, because honestly anything can trigger my acne).

This is a fantastic moisturizer. I was looking for something simple, but hydrating enough for my dry skin. My skin is prone to closed comedones and fungal acne (small, itchy, acne-like bumps), and I was exhausted searching for something that would not exacerbate my issues or further irritate my skin. It’s a smooth, light lotion texture that spreads evenly. It layers wonderfully with my other serums/toners, and makes my skin look fresh and healthy. It feels like a drink of water for my skin. Occasionally I wish it had a tad more moisture for when my skin is very dry, but I started using an occlusive at night on top (Aquaphor), and the result is perfection. Using an occlusive at night in conjunction with this moisturizer and my other products has truly helped to heal my skin. My textural and dryness issues are practically gone, after only a month or two of changing my routine and adding this lovely moisturizer. I use it day and night for reference. I also love how the finish is smooth and healthy looking, not overly shiny or matte. It soaks right in and feels great. It’s a tad pricey, but absolutely worth it and is nothing in comparison price wise to many overpriced high-end moisturizers out there. My HG for sure!

I found this when I was searching for products that would be safe for fungal acne. As it turns out, the breakout I was experiencing wasn’t fungal at all, but I keep repurchasing this emulsion nonetheless because it’s so gentle and provides the perfect amount of hydration for my dehydrated skin. This wouldn’t be rich enough for someone with seriously dry skin, IMO. However, it layers REALLY nicely with the Vichy Mineral 89 serum, which I also recommend. My skin hasn’t felt this balanced and comfortable in a long time. The packaging however is frustrating – I appreciate how sterile it is, but it’s really difficult to get product out towards the last 1/3 of the products life. It’s way to easy to squirt out an insane amount, so product gets wasted.

At first I thought this product was amazing, it went on smooth and seemed to even out my skin tone BUT after a few weeks of use it wasn’t providing any hydration, my skin suddenly felt tight and dry when applying it – really uncomfortable! I have quite dry rosacea skin which can get oily throughout the day, however, this was starting to have a negative effect on my skin. I was thoroughly disappointed as price is great, ingredients are minimal and packaging is awesome but I just can’t handle the tight dry feeling…plus my rosacea prone areas were starting to clog a bit
