TonyMoly Timeless Ferment Snail Cream is a snail filtrate heavy cream meant to brighten, prevent wrinkles and provide deep hydration, either as the last step of a classic Korean skincare routine, or as an occasional add on when you need some extra moisture.
My skin is amazingly thirsty, and this product has done a great job of preventing the flakiness/windburn and general splotchy crankiness that is the bane of my skincare existence.
The formula is VERY rich(acne prone skin types will most likely want to avoid this one), with a gel like swirl in the cream(I assume the gel may be the snail filtrate), that blends into a very smooth feeling finish when applied to the face. This is probably best used as a night cream, as the formula takes several hours to absorb, even in small doses, and does leave a some stickiness as it sinks in. There is a bit of fragrance in this, but it a light, almost citrusy scent that isn’t cloying or irritation causing.
It takes about 2 weeks of regular use to see the full effect, but my skin is definitely smoother and less dull, even after a week of little sleep and high stress, and the super saturated formula helps plump up the few fine lines that are starting to creep in as I move through my 30’s
As with the rest of this range, it is attractively packaged in white and gold The 50 ml size jar has a locking cap and an applicator stick, so you do not shorten the shelf life of your product by having to use your fingers(read: introduce bacteria).
Additionally, if you keep an eye out in stores or online, you can often find the package deal of the 50 ml size cream and a deluxe size sample of the Timeless Snail Ferment Eye Cream, raising the ante on a product that already has a very nice value for money ratio.
Performance of the product punches way above the weight class of its (relatively) inexpensive price point. I’ve gotten better results from this range (which I will review the rest of as time permits) than Western lines that are twice the price.
Will definitely repurchase, as this is the product that sold me on snail mucus as an effective skincare ingredient, and not just an odd fad.
