My friend gave me a bunch of Esthederm samples and I decided to start using them.one of them was a 2mil sachet of Hydra System Aqua Diffusion Cream(there seems to be a fluid version too but this review is for the cream one which comes in glass jar packaging)
It’s written on the cardboard of the sample:
Recommended if your skin is subject to dehydration and tightness,if you notice a lack of suppleness and softness or wrinkles and fine lines of dehydration;this care maintains the natural moisture of skin and helps it regain it’s water balance..it claims that skin will regain it’s feeling of comfort and well being, the fine lines of dehydration will be smoothed and the skin is going to be supple, velvety and soft to touch.it says apply it morning and evening, alone or in addition to Cellular Concentrate,on face and neck
So this is officially a moisturizer with a 80$ price tag which increases expectations.I don’t have fine lines but I have seriously dehydrated skin and often feel tightness.I know it’s not fair to judge a product by using just 2mils of it but I believe even that tiny amount can give an overall idea of the product.that 2 mils was enough for 3 times use(I just used it on my face not neck),so I can say that a jar(50 mil) would be enough for a month if you use twice in a day and just on your face.it has a creamy texture(not watery) but isn’t as rich as most moisturizers I usually use.it isn’t strongly perfumed which is good.it went smoothly on skin and sinked in very fast.I usually use thick, heavy moisturizers(like La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume or Uriage Xemose Cream) that sit on my skin for the whole night so that they can protect my dry skin from feeling tight and itchy,I though Esthederm HSADC is going to leave my skin dry after an hour(as most moisturizers that absorb fast do) but nope,my skin didn’t feel dry even a bit for 12 hours!even though there was no shine,no greasy, heavy film,my skin was as smooth as baby skin.I loved touching my skin to feel it’s softness.I also felt my skin looks better immediately after applying it.velvety?blurred?donno how to explain it.it wasn’t like how silicone based primers blur and smooth skin,it was different as if my skin is better without having any product on it or maybe I felt so because it managed to reduce the redness I usually have on my cheeks.my skin usually reacts immediately when it doesn’t like a skincare or makeup product.I used this one for 3 days in a raw, once a day and it didn’t cause any irritation or breakout
Long story short, using this product was a true pleasure.using it felt good,my skin seemed to like it and it made my skin feel and look good but I’m undecided yet and don’t know if it’s enough good to worth 80$ for just one month use, maybe even less than a month(if I buy it I have to use it twice a day,as it’s moisturizing effect doesn’t last more than 12 hours on my dry, dehydrated skin but it probably will be enough to use once a day for people with normal or oily skin types)
I also don’t like skincare products that come in glass jars(I prefer pump, even plastic tubes) and I guess I can’t use it as makeup base.once I tried to use it for moisturizing my skin before putting on Guerlain Baby Glow foundation and I couldn’t blend it without peel off(but it may work with other foundations).I used to have a full size Esthederm Time Technology Cream and that one was a terrible makeup base too
For now,I’m going to try my other Esthederm samples and then stick to numerous moisturizers I already have.if I save enough money,I prefer buying Esthederm’s Hyaluronic Serum first but I would purchase this one too if I was rich
Edit:
I bought two more samples and I don’t like it anymore after going through these two samples.it still absorbs fast, doesn’t feel like I have anything on my skin and makes my skin smooth and velvety but..
It’s moisturizing effect doesn’t last even three hours!I can feel and see dry patches on different parts of my skin.I also tried applying another foundation and a sunscreen on it and I find out oh impossible to apply any product on top of it without experiencing crazy peel off.I won’t buy a full size even it was 8$ instead of 80!
