I love the initial feel of this cream on my face. I never thought a cream could make my face feel even cleaner, because it is not oily at all, and it is absorbed so quickly it had my skin feeling dry and clean. That being said… despite the initial fantastic feeling on my skin, it is not moisturising enough for me, even as an oily/combo skinned adult. I thought it would be more hydrating than it is. I eventually bought the tatcha purple dewy skinned cream and use this very sparingly instead (most of the time). I have both and if I were feeling particularly dry, or oily, I have both alternatives. I know I have combination/oily skin and have had for years, but this still doesn’t moisturise my skin nearly enough.

Beautiful packaging…..BUT, when I first tried it, it felt like a facial product bought from a grocery drug store. It’s comparable to Neutrogena gel cream (the one with blue packaging). Because I was testing out this product before making a big purchase and commitment to this brand, I decided to buy the smallest size ($20). It’s quite expensive for what I experienced so far using this product and also reading bad reviews after I bought the product. I can see why some people broke out with pimples using this product. My theory is probably they did not use a toner before applying this product. Because when I use a toner, I feel like my face is cleaner after washing…..but when I put on this product, it’s quite water. (Like I could literally just grab my normal lotion and mix it with water, and you have quite the same product). I was going to return it after reading the reviews, but I’m going to just keep the bottle and see how it works until it’s gone. So far, it’s not as great as I thought.

I really like this cream. I find it very uniquely moisturising, plumping and not sensitizing despite the gold and fragrance in it. It feels very refreshing and overall such a pleasant experience to use. Like all Tatcha products, the packaging itself is BEAUTIFUL, I am obsessed. I feel like a queen every time I use their products. I look forward to using this every morning, underneath my oil and sunscreen, work great.

I got a deluxe point sample of this. I have oily asian skin and this DOES help with oiliness but…uh, it’s filled with silicones… I tried it at night at first (it’s luxury skincare that i typically associate with ingredients that are highly effective in long term, not just the immediate), and immediately while it was nice and smooth…it was way *too* smooth. It felt like it had like dimethicone and the such in it, similar to my face primers. I noticed in the morning that although my face wasn’t oily in the morning (which it can get overnight), i also noticed that there seems to be an almost waxy layer over my face when i wash my face (in morning i only use water, no cleanser/soap).
applied it in the morning and went about my day without any other makeup (primer or otherwise), and yup, it’s controlling oil alright, but again it’s got a cone-feel.
got curious and looked up the ingredient on sephora, and Dimethicone is the THIRDingredient from the top. Furthermore, there were several other types of silicone in the ingredient, such as Trimethicone, Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Peg-10/15 Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/Phenyl Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer. Interestingly enough it’s also got Titanium Dioxide in it even though it’s not marked with any spf, and Alcohol is also in the ingredient list at the end (and other ethonols).
I dunno man, if i’m paying this much for luxury skincare, i’d rather it work more for long term benefit without the alcohol or all the silicones to give a temporary impression of it making your skin look great.
At least the 2nd ingredient is indeed the japanese formula that they’re touting as the reason for how expensive this is (first is water lol). I guess you can argue that the dimethicone seals the proprietary jpn formula into your skin buuuuuuuut…
while i def will use up my sample, i’m actually pretty disappointed.

I got 2 small “points perk” jars of this when I was last at Sephora. I like the Tatcha products I have, though I do find all their stuff over-packaged and over-priced but still lovely. I knew nothing about this cream at all but the name was appealing and, to be perfectly honest, I really got it so I could have the empty jars for travelling with carry on luggage! I didn’t realize that this cream was meant primarily for oily skin but, you know, as it’s the middle of summer where I live and summers here are hot, muggy and humid, this cream is actually lovely for use at night. It feels cool, light and refreshing and while it’s not heavily hydrating, it is nice not to wake up with an oil slick on my skin. Also, if I need more hydration, I will apply my YTTP or Kiehl’s facial oil to drier areas before applying this and I’m set. I don’t think I’d purchase the full sized jar of this – if I part with close to $90, I do want something more moisturizing – but it was a nice points perk and the empty jars will be perfect for decanting my face and eye creams for travel.

I have very sensitive, delicate skin that has recently become even worse due to medical treatment. I went from looking younger than I am to old – with dry, flat aged looking skin with poor texture. I tried this moisturiser couple with the Deep Cleanse and the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist and WOW! Within 3 days of using these products my skin is rapidly returning to health. It is smooth again.
When you apply the cream it just disappears straight into your skin leaving you with a well nourished face that feels great – no oily residue!
I have since purchased the Rice Polish: Calming and the Silk Canvas. I couldn’t be happier with my purchases.

This moisturizer is not bad, but it’s definitely not the best. If you have oily skin, this moisturizer is very light but hydrating enough to keep you good. But if you have any dry patches or dry skin, this will NOT do anything for you! Your skin will just drink this moisturizer up and you’ll still see the dry patches.
Honestly, you can find better moisturizers at the drugstore and for a better price. If your heart is set on this moisturizer, get a sample first before spending big money on this.

The product instead of making my pores smaller, ruined my complexion and caused my pores to enlarge

I like everything Tatcha and have been using some kind of Japanese skin care for years (usually DHC, much more affordable.) i got a set of Tatcha with the night cream, the camellia oil and the rice enzyme powder and fell in love with it.
I didn’t read carefully on the site, this cream is really normal-oily, not normal-dry. I’m normal but being over sixty, I’m hardly oily any more. Mostly sensitive. I do like the cream and the faintly piny scent. It goes on like water and leaves a good smooth feeling. I think it may be good in summer, when it gets very hot and sweaty out and creams need to be light.

This is my daytime moisturizer. This, plus the Tatcha SPF cream are clutch. I love the texture. Smooth and watery, like a cool drink for my dry skin.
