i love this product. it’s a gel so it’s incredibly lightweight, which is what i look for in a moisturizer. i have genetically very oily skin that’s prone to breaking out when i use products that are too occlusive, and this has not caused any upset in my skin since i started using it. and i love that it doesn’t have any fragrance.
i got this as part of a set of minis for my husband to try, but as he’s not a fan i’ve decided to give this product a go since the texture of it seemed to be up my alley. i certainly didn’t buy it for the novelty of having a jelly product, but i have to admit, i do get a kick out of using it. it’s fun to see the product self-level and make itself look almost new again each time i open the jar.
i do think it’s a bit pricy for elf, but maybe the jar the full size comes in is more impressive than i’m expecting. either way, i’d probably repurchase. hard to beat elf when it comes to inexpensive vegan beauty + skin care.

Its a very lightweight moisturizer, a little too light for me, my skin feels tight after wearing for a few hours. It has a really fun jelly consistency, but I don’t like having to stick my fingers into the jar (feels unsanitary).

The SuperHydrate Moisturizer has a soothing jelly texture and applies easily as well as absorbs quickly. It sets to a nice non-sticky finish that works well under foundation or layers well with other skincare products. I also love that the SuperHydrate Moisturizer is full of beneficial ingredients such as niacinamide, centella asiatica, and vitamin e. The nice thing for those with sensitive skin is that ELF made this moisturizer fragrance free. This is great for sensitive skin, or those who have compromised skin barriers.
On to the disappointing thing about this moisturizer. It is such a bummer that ELF decided not to package this in an airless jar. I’ve seen other ELF products packaged in Airless Jars so it’s not like they don’t know they exist. Some of the ingredients in this are very sensitive to light and air. Centella Asiatica, niacinamide, vitamin e, and more can degrade when exposed repeatedly to light and air. This is a bit disappointing, but the price ($12) does allow for those to transfer this to another form of packaging with some of the savings.
I must say, since I purchased this I find myself reaching for it all the time. After a few uses I was hooked on the wonderful texture and the lightness of gel. It feels wonderful on my skin after cleansing and toning. Nice and hydrating without feeling or looking greasy.
