The previous reviewer is right. This pills. Badly. Its such a shame because I like everything else about it. It smells great and definitely moisturizes, but this stuff pills on me no matter how little I use. Instead of using it as a “leave on” face cream I use it as a weekly mask. For that it works really well. I’d recommend it for use as a mask only.

This takes care of very dry skin, no question. It has a butter-thick texture, and very little is needed to eradicate flaky patches. I would have rated it higher, but it’s not the most comfortable moisturizer to wear. It sets to a tacky, heavy-feeling finish, and if you apply any more than a tiny amount, it pills off. It’s a shame, because it really does moisturize very well, and it comes in a very generously sized tub.

i have oily skin & dry flaking around my acne and most moisturizers don’t help the flaking. this moisturizer is so bomb!!!! it’s pretty thick but instead of just sitting on top of the skin it sinks in and actually makes my skin feel so hydrated. i’ve been using it for about 2 weeks now and there is a noticeable difference. highly recommend.

I was in Walgreens searching for some new cleansers and moisturizers when I came across this.
I fell in love as soon as I tried it. I have very dry and sensitive skin so I’m always cautious when buying things to try. This surprised me, honestly. It is one of the few products I have used that does not make my face feel tacky after I use it. The smell is fine, it’s very rich and thick, and the packaging is cute, too. Sometimes I use it as a mask and others I just use as the moisturizer. Also, a little goes a very long way with this.
My skin approves and so do I. I love this!

Got a sample of this and used it as a mask. I have very fair, but not sensitive skin, and after ten minutes I rinsed the cream off. At first my skin was fine, but after 5 minutes, everywhere the cream had been turned as red as if I’d been in the sun for an hour without sunblock. Again, my skin IS NOT SENSITIVE. So, Idk, but my skin feels very warm and literally like I got too much sun. 96% natural can mean whatever they want it to… but obviously there’s something in this product that can burn you. I use all sorts of masks and I’ve never had one do this to me. I will stick to Lush from now on. Awful, awful product.

This is a solid moisturizer that is indeed soothing, moisturizing and cheap. I bought it for $9.99 at Target and am very impressed. It has almost a primer like consistency and sits beautifully on the skin. I have used it as a night moisturizer and for day. Does not exacerbate my oil production, does not pill under makeup and wears nicely. For 6.7oz you cannot beat the price for a solid moisturizer. I need more moisture for the winter so I would probably add a hyroluronic acid serum underneath. Would certainly repurchase.

This was a good surprise. I have tried Garnier products in the past and I have not cared for them. I have also been under the impression for years that shea butter breaks me out. So I didn’t not have much hope for this product but it was $12.99 at walgreens and I haven’t been able to afford my HG belief true moisturizing cream in quite a while. I was desperate and looking for something more natural.
This claims to be 96% natural and the ingredients do read that way but we all know that companies can slap whatever label on a product so I don’t entirely believe their claims on this. Garnier didn’t start out as an organic skincare company so I take it with a grain of salt.
So this is intended to be a mask, day and night moisturizer. I would never use this as a mask because it doesn’t seem to be mask-like to me. If that makes any sense. It is a quite thick cream but I feel it would turn entirely goopy on your face and I don’t even want to imagine what it would like washing it off.
Here is what won me over on this product and surprised me. I have 3 things I look for in a moisturizer – does it truly moisturize or just cover dryness, does it wear well under makeup and other skincare products, and does it make me feel gross. Making me feel gross and just covering dryness go hand in hand. I have found that some moisturizers just sit on top of your skin giving the appearance of moisture but because they don’t fully sink in, they can make my skin feel oily or gross as the day goes on. This actually moisturizes my skin and sinks in. My friends have noticed a difference in my skin. I have also found this to wear well over other products and under makeup. It has not caused any pilling or other weirdness that i can sometimes happen. I am also able to mix it with a sunscreen and apply it around my eyes without stinging. I have not noticed it reacting to any other products I use including acids. I do not believe this has broken me out. In fact, this combined with switching from bare escentuals pro foundation to the fenty foundation may have cause my break outs to clear up. Time will tell though.
The one issue I can see people having with it and not liking it is if they apply too much. I apply slightly more than a pea-size glob to my face. Because it’s thick, it will feel like it isn’t spreading but if you warm it up in your hands first, it will apply more smoothly. If you apply too much, it will sit on top of your skin and not fully sink in which can cause problems with pilling, etc. You get a large tub for the price probably because they intend you to use this as a mask too. Since I don’t, one tub will last me at the very least 6 months if not longer. This, combined with rosehip and marula oil, has been a god send for my dry skin this winter. I do think I may need to switch when it gets warmer out. At this time, I am very pleased with this and will continue to purchase. (Fingers crossed they don’t discontinue it. ha!)
