I got this in an ipsy bag. It doesn’t do anything actively bad to my skin, but it also leaves it feeling sticky and not really moisturized, and I didn’t understand the liquidy jelly-like texture. The fragrance is nice (but there is a fragrance).

This product is hydrating without making my skin feel or look oily. It melts into the skin on application, although this watery type of texture makes it seem like there’s not much to it. It works as a basic moisturizer but it’s nothing special. For the price, I would expect it to be a little more impressive. There are moisturizers out there just as good as this for a cheaper price point. I wouldn’t buy this again.

I have dry skin and don’t find this moisturizing at all. It’s mainly water and a lot of ‘cones and as such, feels like a primer and rather plastic-y. It stayed sticky even after having it on an hour and my face felt really dry. The only plus is the tube with a pump. I really like that style. Neutrogena’s hydro boost with sunscreen does too and it’s much better at moisturizing and softening with the bonus of sunscreen.

This stuff has a really interesting texture, because while it is a gel, it kind of melts into something more akin to a light oil or serum once it comes in contact with body heat. Because of this, it doesn’t feel sticky on the skin like some gels or gel-creams can, but it also doesn’t feel oily or slick either. It absorbs quickly, and feels lightweight. I tend to use in the daytime, under makeup and sunscreen, when my skin is feeling a little bit more parched. It does have a scent, and while I personally find it to be pleasant, some people might be put off by it. The only reason I don’t give it five lippies is because I don’t think it does much for any sort of long-term moisturizing; once it is washed off, skin goes back to how it was before. However, it is great for preventing makeup from leeching all of the moisture from my skin, so I appreciate the extra barrier/protection it gives in that regard.

According to Pixi this product is “an intense moisture gel that instantly re-hydrates dry skin” and I would whole heartedly agree. If feels super lightweight, melts into the skin, plumping, cooling, refreshing and really does hydrate your skin. Comes in their typical squeeze tube with pump dispenser which I happen to really like. One pump is more than enough to do your entire face. Primers, foundation, etc. apply well over this, no pilling or balling up at all. This gel has green tea, aloe vera and rosemary in it, all soothing and great for the skin. It also contains silicones which explains the soft smooth texture of your skin after application. It reminds me of e.l.f.’s hydrating primer (which I like) but more gel-like and less-silicone slip. This is great under Pixi Glowtion Day Dew (which can be worn as an illuminating primer) and Pixi H2O Skin Tint (as a BB cream/foundation) for those natural “no makeup” makeup days. The first time I used this I wasn’t sure I liked it because it felt very different to any other product I’d tried. I get great results with these products and feel confident in recommending them to others.
