This is one of my holy grail primers for oily skin. When I first apply it it is kind of oily but it keeps me matt a really long time. Now I am on my third bottle, I use it every single day!!!

I had an allergic reaction to this product. It burned on contact,and the next day I had a red rash with a sharp line of demarcation between where I had applied it and where I hadn’t. I suspect the feverfew extract. It is a known allergen, and apparently if you are allergic to ragweed/ daisy/ chrysanthemum/ camomile/ marigold, this will very likely cause a problem for you. I’m actually not allergic to any of those other than ragweed, but this stuff really burned badly and caused a lasting red rash. I should have known, because years ago I had a similar reaction to Aveeno Ultra Calming night cream, which also contains feverfew. Too bad, because otherwise this seemed very promising for an oily-skinned person like myself. Not sure why they would put something that a fair # of people are allergic to in this. From what I’ve read, there is very little science to support any benefit to feverfew even for people who are not allergic. Other than that,this is a milky lotion w/o any fragrance. It is non-greasy and very light. Sinks in and does not leave any film or residue and does not pill under mu. It is matte,as advertised. I’m bummed because the other ingredients look really good for oily skin. Test w/ caution!

I have combination skin, large pores and an oily forehead. The ingredient looked impressive, so I though I would give this a try. It is a lightweight formula in a silicone base. This did not control oil or minimize pores at all. What it did do is cause my skin to breakout. I kept trying this hoping my skin would adjust, but the breakouts did not stop.

I have to agree with the other reviews, this is definitely not mattifying, in fact it made my skin so much oilier that my mother asked me “are you wearing a different foundation because your skin looks really oily and shiny”. Yikes. I could tell that this was making my skin feel oily but I was hoping it didn’t look noticeable.
SO this is not mattifying. However, I liked the way that it applied, it felt great on my skin and my foundation applied reallyyy smoothly over it. It would be great for someone who needs a moisturizer, but doesn’t need a mattifying product.

I would buy this again if I can afford it. I wouldn’t say it’s mattifying. It’s more hydrating that in effect makes my skin produce less oil. I still have to blot throughout the day. Nothing mattifies my skin so I wouldn’t expect this to. It’s doesn’t break me out. I like the feel of it when I put it on. Makes my skin soft and smooth.

I got this product as a free sample and I was super excited about it, I have a huge problem with moisturizers because I have oily skin so I feel like most of them tend to just add to the oiliness and feel super gross when I apply them and the rest of the day. Since I thought this was gonna be my ultimate HG. When I first put it on it mattifies and actually makes my pores look smaller (which it says on the tube as well), doesn’t feel super greasy since its oil free so it doesn’t bother me at all. I use a primer over it then precede with the rest of my make up. It doesn’t break me out, which is good Bc most moisturizers do. The problem is that it doesn’t help me stay matte throughout the day, I still have to reapply powder same as I would if I wasn’t using it, which isn’t too much of a problem to me but I really wanted this to work so I could use it over the summer when I really need the mattifying help lol. Overall I give it a 4 though, even with my small sample size a little goes a long way on the face. Also doesn’t have any strong perfumey odor so that’s a plus.

I really like this moisturizer. If you have dehydrated, combo to oily skin that is sensitive, give this a try. My skin reacts to nearly everything, but somehow this seems to give it some hydration without irritating or breaking me out. I like to add a bit of raw honey to kick up the humectant (water moisture) retaining factor. This does make it a bit more tacky, but once I put sunscreen over it I don’t have any problems with makeup application (Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder). It’s a bit pricy, but it’s worth it to me.

I was excited when this came out, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me and became an exchange for another item. My skin is very sensitive, and this burned slightly when I applied. This sensation was fleeting, but I don’t like irritation at all. Also, it didn’t really mattify. I still had to use powder just as I normally would.
However, for someone who does not have sensitive skin yet has oily skin, it might be good because it has a light gel base, and there are lots of antioxidants in the formula.
It’s just not suitable for me. $30 for 2 ounces is a lot when I don’t love the product, so I won’t buy again, but I do love the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser and the red clay mask, and would cheerfully repurchase those.
