This simply wasn’t moisturizing enough for my skin in its current dehydrated state, but I can imagine it might be okay when its more normalized or in warmer weather. I did start to breakout from it though, I suspect the stearates possibly- it’s a shame because otherwise I liked the non irritating quality and the fact it’s fragrance free.

I like all Bioderma Sensibio range. My skin, a skin always red and flaming red and itchy and burning, is much better when I’m using those products and this product range. It’s not perfect but I’ll keep using those at least until I find something better.
The product sink right into my skin, is absorbed quickly and smells great, really soft.

I bought this product because I have been suffering from some redness in my skin. I believed it was perhaps from a mild form of environmental rosacea.
I am nearly done the bottle and my skin has shown absolutely zero signs of improvement. This is also not moisturizing at all and I have combination, not dry skin.
What a waste of money. I would absolutely never purchase this product again. It basically does nothing that it says it does.

Edit November 2016: I am still using thus moisturizer and I love it. I really believe it’s helped me heal my skin barrier as I am finding my skin less sensitized to things overall. If you find your skin irritated by everything – makeup, hot water, even the gentlest lotions and products, give this a try. It won’t help redness, but if your skin revolts at everything by giving you papules, bumps, uneven texture and irritation, this seemingly no frills lotion really does seem to make a difference. Sure I still react with acne to specific cosmetic ingredients, which are easy enough to avoid, but I no longer seem to be dealing with irritation from just about everything. I tried to switch to another moisturize with anti aging benefits, but found my skin wasn’t as happy. I now use antiaging serums underneath. I also suspect a lot of my skin issues (and food sensitivities) are linked to the chronic inflammation I’ve been living with as I have endometriosis/adenomyosis. It’s not uncommon for those of us with these diseases to have sensitivities and allergies. Will definitely keep purchasing this as my skin loves it and it is calming.
I wanted a basic moisturizer without actives or scent to use during the day as I use Glycolic and retinol at night and just wanted something soothing and plain for the day under my sunscreen. This fit the bill and claims to be geared toward intolerant and allergic skin, which sounds perfect for me. I have used this for a month now, sometimes twice a day, and it really has helped my skin. From their site:
Cutaneous hypersensitivity under TOTAL CONTROL for a comfortable and durably soothed skin.
Raises the skin’s tolerance threshold.
Improves quality of life. Taking care of your skin is once again a pleasure. The use of make-up products becomes possible again.
The sensations of tightness and discomfort are immediately soothed. Day after day, the skin regains its original comfort.
Minimises the risk of cutaneous intolerance thanks to ingredients strictly selected for their safety.
Strictly necessary ingredients, recognised for their efficacy.
Care in total affinity with the skin.
Intensely moisturises.
I can’t say my quality of life has been improved (that is a pretty steep claim I think – haha), but my skin is very happy and soothed and breakouts are less when I do wear a full face of makeup. I actually did not even break out this month with my period, and while I don’t know if that is because of this lotion keeping my skin calm, or if it’s because my skin found a friend in the Glycolic Fix pads and serum I use, but I will not complain. I also wouldn’t say my skin is intensly moisturized because I don’t suffer from dry skin often. I’m actually pretty oily. This lotion is quite thin, although it does absorb quickly. It does have an odd odor, kind of sour. Not like it’s off or rancid, but it’s there and it fades quickly. I don’t mind if products have an odor if they have no added fragrance to mask it. It comes in an airtight pump dispenser which is appreciated. It takes about a pump and a half to do my face and neck, and it really does make a decent base for makeup. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with frustrated and sensitive skin. I had previously steered clear of Bioderma as a brand, despite the raves as many of their products contain mineral oil. My skin absolutely seems to hate mineral oil (despite logically knowing that it shouldn’t cause me to breakout, but realistically knowing that it does). This however, does not have mineral oil in it. Within a week I noticed my skin tone and texture started to improve and I am still seeing improvements. I really do think that this has improved my skin barrier and this lotion is a winner, despite it’s seemingly basic description.
