This is an excellent and elegant moisturizer that is supposed to enhance the skin’s barrier function when it is weakened by weather/cosmetic procedures etc.
It contains a blend of mainly light emollients and a few heavier ones, barrier enhancing emulsifiers along some additives to provide an elegant finish.
It does contain some excellent actives too (Madecassoside, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Centella Asiatica Extract, Retinyl Palmitate, Salicyloyl Phytosphingosine).
It feels a bit heavy and rich at application, but absorbs quickly and provides a flattering non-greasy hydrating and finish.
It is actually the same product as the new Lancome Renergie Multi Cica Cream. The only difference, beside the price, is that the one from L’Oreal contains fragrance and Retinyl Palmitate (and the preservative system is slightly different). (The fragrance is identical to the one used in Biotherm Life Plankton Balm, another L’Oreal creation.)
It is an excellent choice for 1/3 of the price of the one from Lancome.
The only drawback I have with this formula is that it might be too heavy for oilier skin and might clog pores.
PS: The US formula is different from the EU version. This review is for the EU version with the corresponding ingredients list (albeit the actives are the same in both formulas).

I use this occasionally, when my skin is looking a little blah, and I do like it. I do not LOVE it, but I will at least use up what I have. I wish it was more moisturizing, but layered with other products it works pretty well. I haven’t seen any huge changes in the overall appearance of the minimal fine lines I have or anything like that, but I do think that the small amount of retinol and tiger grass that this product delivers works pretty well as maintenance for the stronger products that I use. It does have a slight scent, but it is minimal and I don’t believe it has really negatively affected my sensitive skin. The packaging is nice in that it is opaque and not in a jar, and the product also feels pretty nice going onto the skin. Is it a miracle product that will undo any kind of damage to your facial skin? No. I do wish it had more of the tiger grass extract, which is very low on the ingredients list, but barring that it is a perfectly okay product that is widely available.

I bought this last week on recommendation from a google search for “best retinol products for acne” – this popped up! It was on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart, $19.99 from $29.99 (I believe) so I figured why not. It is a really lovely and creamy texture, no scent, and did not irritate at all on application. I did have a skin purge of breakouts, but this was on my chin area which is where I normally do breakout. Nowhere else. After a week now, my skin is calming down, looks a lot smoother and feels a lot softer. I have oily skin, and I use this at night only. It is definitely not too moisturizing for me, because I do find my oily skin is actually quite dry. So far, I love this product! Great packaging, great price and great results (so far)!

The L’Oreal Revitalift CicaCream is a decent moisturizing cream that features the new “it” ingredient, Tiger Grass, which the Dr. Jart brand help popularize and familiarize. Tiger grass is said to help moisturize skin, help with hyperpigmentation, heal scars, and helps with firmness and elasticity. Centella Asiatica is the formal name, and if you look on the packaging of the Revitalift CicaCream it appears in the ingredient list nearly last. I found that disappointing, especially when I was expecting a product that features tiger grass.
My skin reacts well to tiger grass, but did not react well to this product. I have pretty dry but not acne prone skin. This product caused me to breakout, which hasn’t happened to my skin to this severity in years. This cream contains so many thick and possible pore clogging emollients which in general aren’t bad, but my skin just did not react well to this combonation at all. I’ll go back to my Dr. Jart Tiger Grass Cream.
Go very slow with this product, especially if you have acne prone skin! If you have oily skin this may be too moisturizing for you, especially during the day time. I do like that this is fragrance free and packaged in a tube to protect the ingredients, but for me it just did not agree with my skin. My more detailed review can be seen here:
