I received a sample of this product with my RoseRoseShop purchase recently. I usually try to finish existing samples I already have and wait to use anything new, but for some reason, I really wanted to try this one out. I think the packaging did it for me – even the sample looked so luxurious. For some reason, I also didn’t bother looking at the ingredients list until after I slapped the product on my face. I panicked a little when I saw Cetearyl Alcohol & Stearic Acid listed, but crossed my fingers I wouldn’t break out. With the sample I received, I was only able to get about four uses.
This cream has a perfume floral scent – I actually liked it, but it’s slightly strong enough that it may be annoying for some folks. When I first put it on my face, I immediately knew there was some silicone-based ingredient (in this case, dimethicone) in it because it provided that silky smooth texture that’s common in primers. It did not feel heavy, despite it being a slightly thicker cream that should probably be used only at night. The product felt quite luxurious, considering that the brand is not known for this.
I didn’t see any changes to my skin with the amount of product I had to use, but I liked the scent so much, I went to check the price on this. As part of a more premium product line for Holika Holika, this cream costs around $50USD for 50ml jar. This puts me on the fence because if I am spending $50 on a high-end product from a generally less-expensive young brand, perhaps I should just spend a little more on an actual high-end product that may offer better results for my old haggard skin.
