Underwhelming.
Merely an overpriced basic moisturiser with SPF. I won’t buy it again.
I have combination-dry skin and was looking for a richer face cream for the winter months, without skimping on sunscreen. Needless to say, I was disappointed. My skin does not feel hydrated nor soft/supple after several uses. I don’t feel that it benefited my skin in any way.
The packaging sucks. I hate sticking my finger into a tub, cause you have little control over the amount you use and it gets contaminated easily. Or I’m just an A-type germaphobe
Pros
– Fragrance-free, no phthalates or nasties
– Suitable for my sensitive skin
– Easily absorbed
– Not shiny or greasy
– Creates a good base for make-up
Cons
– Terrible packaging. A bulky tub
– Expensive

My skin is dry-combination right now and I’m always trying to find good moisturizers.when I went to repurchase clinique moisture surge, which I loved back then(I don’t like it anymore),SA suggested me to try this one as moisture surge was out of stock and she said that pep-star hydrorush will prevent my foundation from sticking to my dry patches and get flakey and it also has SPF
It’s an ok moisturizer but I believe it’s better suited for people with drier and more mature skin because mature skins aren’t usually acne prone
It has an almost thick texture and leaves my face oily,so you’d like it only if you like rich moisturizers.it can feel too heavy for people with oily skin and may cause acne.it was a good makeup base for me but was a bit oily for my tzone and I felt it may clog my pores
I won’t repurchase

Edit:
My skin has changed to super dry and it has changed how I felt about this product.I’m very happy that I have it as my skin is so dry now that most creams don’t easily spread on my face.I have problem with 99% of foundations as they don’t sit well on my dry skin.this cream however makes things a lot better.it has a lasting moisturizing effect and my foundations looks less dry/powdery and less flakey when I use this cream as base.yes,it makes my forhead look a bit shiney/oily but that can be solved by using some powder and it doesn’t sit on my skin anymore,it absorbs pretty quickly
I can’t call it my HG moisturizer by any means as I can’t wear it alone,it makes my skin look greasy and leaves a white-ish sheen on my face,I also don’t like it’s jar packaging(it looks nice but I prefer tubes),still I give it credit for having SPF and a lovely moisturizing texture, and making my foundations blend better on my skin.it also didn’t cause acne and break outs unlike my first thoughts
It’s very expensive and difficult to find in my country so I don’t think I’d repurchase but I’m glad to have it
I give it 4 lippies but it’s actually a 3.5 for me
2nd review:
Can’t believe it but after going true one tub,I missed this product so much that I repurchased it (ordered it from a foreign country),I just LOVE it’s texture.it’s like a rich whipped cream, very moisturizing without being too much thick or greasy.I’m not that dry skinned anymore but I still love it so forget about my first review.I don’t delet it to show how our feelings towards a product can change..the only thing I really wish was different about Pep-Start Hydro Rush Moisturizer is that I wish it was at least SPF30,I also don’t know about it’s UVB protection..I use it instead of my sunscreen so I only use it when I go out for a short while and not at noons
When I was waiting to receive this, Eucerin Sunscreen Cream for dry skin was the only sunscreen that felt enough moisturizing for me,that one has much better UV protection but is also much more heavy

In general I really love most Clinique products that I’ve tried despite the typical jar packaging they use. The Clinique Pep-Start Hydro Rush Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 is a decent moisturizer with a pretty decent formula that includes antioxidants, a peptide, many hydrating components, and chemical sunscreen ingredients. I am happy that I was able to get the smaller size tubes instead of purchasing the full-size jar. This is better used as a moisturizer than relying on it for your sole source of sunscreen because this is only an SPF of 20, below the daily recommended level of SPF 30. This does leave skin feeling soft and works well under makeup, just don’t rely on this for protection from the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. I probably wouldn’t buy the full size because of the jar packaging and SPF level, but I will use up the rest of my sample tubes. My video review can be seen here: M
