This review is for the OZ Naturals Super Youth Retinol Moisturizer, sometimes listed as a 2.5% retinol moisturizer.
I just couldn’t help myself. The price, the great ingredient list and the thousands of glowing reviews on Amazon swayed me to try this. Yes- many of the reviews were due to free trial products but still, how bad could it be? The ingredients listed retinyl palmitate and not true retinol, which is still a great ingredient and I was well aware and informed of this prior to ordering. For the price, I was willing to take a risk.
Well here is the truth: The ingredient list on the website and Amazon ad is completely false. I’ll break it down and pictures are attached of the actual product I received- I will refer to the product I received as “real product”, the Amazon listing as the “ad” and the Oz Naturals website information as “website”.
The bottle is the same on the website and real product, no mention of retinol %. Ad shows the product as being 2.5% retinol.
Website and Ad have same ingredients listing including the fact that it is 71% organic. The real product has different ingredients and those which are the same are in a different order. No mention of organic whatsoever on the real product although a nice, vague “97.9% natural” is noted on the box.
Real product contains retinal (not to be confused with retinol) and retinyl palmitate, although bottle name says Retinol. Website and Ad ingredients do not show retinal and only list retinyl palmitate.
A few other ingredients in the real product and not in the ad/website include: Potassium sorbate, benzoate, corn oil, mango seed butter. The first two ingredients are water and cetearyl alcohol but on the website/ad is represented as aloe and palm oil.
I was still going to attempt to try this but I feel I can’t trust the product and it will probably just break me out. STAY AWAY, there is a reason there are no “famous” beauty bloggers reviewing this despite achieving thousands of Amazon reviews. I’ve also attached my amazon review where you can see this was a verified purchase. I have emailed the company with no response yet.
