I bought this cream from fragrancedirect for £15. Do not buy this, it’s a con. Once upon a time is not a luxury French skincare brand like the websites claim and and its certainly not worth the price it sells for. This cream is rubbish, the texture feels cheap and sticky so it feels tacky on my face like I have a thin layer of gunk on my face. worst of all it made me break out. I kid you not this cream smells and feels exactly like a Tescos own brand Cucumber moisturiser I once bought.

I agree with the previous reviewer. This is a really nice, good quality cream. Reminds me of high end Yves St Laurent light creams from the 80s. It comes in one of those push-dose containers, is a light lotion that smells divine (light cucumber/floral, not overpowering) and is surprisingly moisturising. My face feels immediately relaxed and dewy. You only need a small amount and it is easy to spread over whole face (even half a push-pump seems enough). Perfect for daytime use. I purchased for a great price (<$40) on Strawberrynet and have just bought the serum and eye treatment as well. Hard to find ingredient lists online for these products and i have (annoyingly) thrown out the box so can't post them here. Will update if i repurchase, which is entirely possible. Can't vouch for any miracle anti-wrinkle action but my skin looks great at the moment, so no complaints. It is a delight to use, and moisturises well and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin at all, which is more than enough for me right now.

Ok, First let me tell you that 3 weeks ago, I had never even heard of the brand “Once upon a time”. It’s a french niche cosmetic brand, and as it turn out a bit expensive, so no wonder, only a few have heard of it, let alone use their products,as they are very hard to get!
Now, I came accross the brand 3 weeks ago, because as every 2 years, the time had come to look for a new skincare line, not that there is anything wrong with my combination of Dermalogica, Sekkisei and Juvena products, but like evrything else, they reach a plateau and it was time for something new, so I started to investigate what was hip, in , cutting edge and worked, and this is how I came accross this brand on a french blog, and I am so glad I did.!
The girl provided before and after pictures after a month of use, and if this isn’t the best advertising , I don’ know what is!.
First let me tell you that I have great skin, I’m 35, with skin on the dry side, but no pimples, no wrinkles, no scars or blemishes, nothing. My skin looks young, and I look young. ” Not a day over 20″ is something I hear a lot. But sometimes it doesn’t feel young, specially when I get it by a dry patch,it still looks good moisturised, but I feel like sometimes something is missing to it, hence my rotation changing every 2 years.
To achieve these good results, I do thank my good genes, but I have from the age of 13 in boarding school learned that your skin- like your body- is an investment and ever since have been investing in quality skincare, and I always take time to take care of my skin regardless of what life throws at me. You’d be amazed at what a 5mn self face massage can do for your spirits and skin in times of stress.
Anyway, the hype about this cream was
Once upon a time Day cream is a rich antiwrinkles, rich in peptides and in rétinol and in protein of white lupin. Affter a month of use a reduction of 23 %* of medium depth of wrinkles is visible, as well as an improvement of the stretch of the skin. The combined usage of the Serum BTX décontracteur of wrinkles and the Moisturizing Day cream Antiwrinkles boosteur of élastine allows to answer the specific needs of the skin bringing firmness, suppleness, stretch and moisturizing.
My experience:
It has only been 10 days of use for me, and I didn’t buy the Serum BTX, so I can’t comment on their combined action.
I use this cream with a Payot serum- serum de jeunesse, fantastic product see review- and the results are SPECTACULAR.
And I mean it. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t rave about many products, because I have used, and still use the most expensive skin care one can find, Juvena,Dr Brandt,La prairie,Guinot,Darphin,Icy Beauty,I.Millet,Dermalogica to name a few.
U name it and I probably have it in my bathroom! And I know sometimes the $10 moisturizer can work better than the $200 one, so I am really no fool in terms of how hype can affect your wallet but not your skin.
But in this case, well, the blogger didn’t doctor her pictures- I atually emailed her yesterday to thank her- and in my case, my skin has never looked so good.It looks good in general, but now it looks dewy 24/7, and the texture, is just like nothing else! Pure silk! I keep touching it!
I don’t know if it’s the peptides or the retinol, but something is working, and working very well. As I said I use the cream with my payot serum, but I also used it wihout for a day to check if my skin would be tight by day’s end, and I am happy to report , the cream works on its own.I think the serum just enhances its properties, and the combination of both is just BLISSFULL..
I am officialy in love with my moisturizer! The texture of my skin is like silk sheets, and it’s never ever been that soft, and glowing from just one product! I mean I usually have soft skin but it’s after applying, dermalogica booster,a shiseido pre moist base, day bright, and moisturizer!
I don’t wear make up, so the dewy look is natural, and in the past few days, people have been asking me if I started to wear a skin brightener of some sort or if I have a new lover because I literally shine!
Now, the bottle is another reason to be happy: it’s a airless pump bottle, so no contamination, no loss of product, complete preservation of contents, and therefore, more effectiveness.
And it’s a sexy shade of red!
The retail price is 75.00 € – 50 ml ,which is on the reasonable side for me-about $110 – but unfortunately, very difficult to find even online, as it’s distributed only in France, and exclusively.
I suspect a bottle will last 4-6 months, so $200/ year for such a quality moisturizer wouldn’t be that bad at all.And I’m going to see if I can get a few bottles as back up, just in case, the brand disappears.
I am planning to get the rest of the range too, they only have 4 productsin total- day & night cream, eye serum and booser- to see if they are as spectacular.I have already ordered the eye serum , and will write a review once I’ve used it.
I will also update in 20 days,to see if this can get even more spectacular at the end of the recommended 28 days period they advise to see results.
If you are in France, or know someone there, get them to get it for you, your skin will love you for it!
