I keep meaning to leave a review for this moisturizer because I’ve been using it for awhile and it’s done wonders for my skin. I have nightmare skin: pale (like most ivory or fair foundations are too dark because my complexion hasn’t existed since the Victorian era pale), combination, acne prone and rosacea prone. We’ve had a lot of fun my tempestuous skin and I.
My forehead likes to get especially oily. I’ve tried pretty much every moisturizer out there. I was seriously just ready to give up on moisturizers entirely when I tried this stuff in a last ditch effort for something to help my skin. I have tried the no moisturizer approach before, but my skin does seem to need a little something on top to keep it happy. That something just can’t be too heavy or else my skin becomes a greasy mess that leads to breakouts.
I did not have high hopes for this inexpensive moisturizer that I got in the cheap skincare products aisle of Shopper’s Drugmart, but it was supposed to be for one of my skin types so I figured I’d give it a shot. I will never discount anything “cheap” ever again because it has drastically improved my skin.
I rarely get breakouts if I’m diligent about washing my face and applying this moisturizer morning and night. It genuinely does what it says and reduces the amount of oil my skin produces. When I used to wake up in the morning my forehead would usually be super oily, but when I use this stuff it’s only a little bit oily. It doesn’t eliminate oil entirely, but it definitely lessens it which is awesome if you’re used to your face looking like an oil slick by midday. It even helps with my rosacea, which is an added bonus side effect I was not expecting but am more than okay with! My skin looks better, healthier and more even toned with this moisturizer. I think because it actually helps balance my skin. I’ve even got to experience the miracle of make-up free days because I’m not as embarrassed by how my skin looks.
So as far as I’m concerned this stuff is made from magical unicorn tears. I will cry real tears if Neutrogena ever discontinues it so I hope they don’t.
I would absolutely recommend if you have:
* Oily or Combination Skin – I’m not sure how much it would benefit those with extremely oily skin, but it might help somewhat. For my combination skin it’s been amazing.
* Rosacea – I read somewhere that rosacea can be caused by an excess of sebum (the oily stuff our skin produces that causes acne when it clogs our pores). I think this moisturizer helps with rosacea because it causes your skin to produce less oil.
* Acne Prone Skin – If your skin is caused by other problems this might not help, but if your acne woes are oil related it could make a big difference. I personally haven’t had any problems with it clogging my pores. It’s only when I get lazy and I’m not washing my face twice a day that I get breakouts because I let it get too oily.
Probably best to avoid if you have:
* Dry skin – this isn’t going to be very hydrating or moisturizing. It’s more of a milky silicone type gel than a moisturizer.

Does not moisturize at all. Gave me small bumps all over (acne cosmetica).

Don’t bother if you’re dry.. this is good if youre normal-oily. Lightweight, good texture. Not full of synthetic crap like dimethicone. It is pretty basic and will go well with whatever else youre using.. also no scent which is good.

I use this as the base of my makeup. Not a big fan of the texture,I find it too greasy. It broke me out and now im left with visible scars :(.Switched to Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15,find it more gentle and less oily.

My T zone is oily, specially the nose, this moisturizer is good for my cheek and chin area, but defenitily not for my nose, I end up looking very oily, for my normal skin area I think is regular moisturizer but for oily zones no. Maybe persons with normal to dry skin could work.
The price is fair.

Like many of their other products this also makes my skin so greasy. It just sits on top of my skin and never sinks in. My face looks dull and gross. It breaks me out and just does not work for me.

I am really liking this. I have an oily T-zone and the rest of my face tends to be slightly dry. If you used a face wash that dried out your face, then this probably wouldn’t be moisturizing enough. But for me it’s perfect. I use it in the morning and at night after using a gentle cleanser. It does feel slightly sticky just after you apply it, that’s a bit weird, but it goes away in a few minutes and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated. Really good under makeup and hasn’t broken me out, it’s just a really good gentle basic moisturizer.

I bought this product 2 days ago and used it day & night the last 2 days. Yesterday morning i woke up with very little change to my skin ( which i expected with first use). However when i woke up this morning my skin looked very bright & clear and soft to the touch, will continue using this product and update this review later on!

I honestly thought that I was doomed to struggling with skin care products thanks to having combination skin- I mean how could one single product cater to both dry and oily skin on the same face? But anyway, I think this $12 moisturizer performs better than the $38 one I had been using from Sephora. Skin care is tricky but I really really like this product, and I have found very few skin care products that I remain loyal to.
The more expensive moisturizer I used prior to this one clung to my dry spots and made my T-zone look like an oil slick. However, I did not experience that with the Neutrogena one- my skin actually looked even, it moisturized the dry spots, and more importantly it did not make my nose and forehead look more oily. The texture is lightweight, non-greasy, unscented (thankfully), and it left my skin feeling refreshed and prepped for foundation.
I use it twice a day- once in the morning/before I put my makeup on, and when I take it off at night. Believe it or not, my pores looked a little bit smaller- this product does not particularly target pores but perhaps when combined with the other new products I started using, they’re slightly less noticeable (at least to me).
I know taking care of combination skin is frustrating, and everyone has different body chemistry so what works for one person may not work for another. However, keep trying and I hope you all find your holy grail products! I know this is one of mine!
And I actually did leave it somewhere and re-bought it the next day lol

Bought this for the first time yesterday and used it only once, which was last night. Woke up this morning to at least 5 fresh, new bumps on my face. Gonna have to pass on this. My oily skin alone doesn’t cause this much acne. I only get pimples around the time of my cycle so I can definitely narrow it down to this product 🙁
