I have oily, acne-prone skin. I’ve been looking for a cheap yet effective moisturizer that doesn’t cause break outs. This is literally the worst I’ve tried. My faced looked so greasy after putting it on that I looked like I hadn’t washed my face in a week. Every time I would touch my face, my fingers would come away greasy. I thought that maybe it would soak into the skin as it dried down but it just kept getting worse as the day went on. I ended up washing my face after only a few hours.

I love the texture of this lotion because I prefer nourishing creams that leave my skin a bit dewy. This lotion apply light but feels very moisturizing. But I just cannot get over the scent, to me it smells like medicine, so I keep avoiding this.

I really wanted to love this moisturizer, but after giving it a couple of tries, I do not think I’ll ever want to use it again. Ever since I hit my 20s, my chin/mouth area constantly breaks out. I wanted to use this product to help control it, but it only worsened my acne. The first time I applied the moisturizer, my chin became riddled with tiny white heads and painful cystic bumps after two days of use. I decided to wait a month before trying it out again to see if I could yield different results, but nevertheless, it did the same thing.

I was looking for a greener replacement for Clean & Clear’s Dual Action Moisturizer, and this is the winner. C&C’s also was no longer moisturizing enough for me.
I still struggle with mild acne even at 30, especially around ovulation. My skin is mostly clear, definitely better than it was when I was a teen and in my early 20s, but I’ve always got at least 1 or 2 spots. Still struggle with gunky buildup in my pores and an oily T-Zone. Occasionally still get a lone, lumpy, cystic zit that takes weeks to shrink and go away.
But even with the oil, I definitely still need moisturizer, especially with the 2.5% benzoyl peroxide treatment my skin requires to keep the gunk and breakouts at bay.
This moisturizer is relatively light but definitely nourishing. A little goes a long way. If you use too much, you will feel greasy. It helps control my breakouts better than the BB’s Sensitive Daily Moisturizer (without salicylic acid).
The glass bottle is pretty, but probably not as practical as plastic. I haven’t dropped it yet to test the durability.
It’s pricey, though. Whew! Never spent this much on moisturizer before. At least it seems to be lasting a long time.

This stuff is great–it has bad reviews, and I do see why. I put this on first. Let it sit into my skin. I then put on Jergan’s BB body (medium tone) W/ Jergan’s this stuff is great. It does not really help with acne, it did make me breakout. It just moisturizes so well. So do not buy this–basically is the moral of the story, it is a lot of money and makes a lot of people break out. The glass bottle does not help it’s case…

Awful! My aunt got this for me a week ago and she told me her sons benefitted from it. After one night of applying it woke up to a bunch of small buy painful breakouts all over my face. I kept using it twice a day for the next three days to see how my sensitive skin would adjust to it… I kept breaking out. And once I applied it I looked like a grease ball for the next three or four hours. Not worth it. If its damaging my skin claiming it will fix it then there’s a problem. Would not recommend. I only love the bottle and I really think its great quality packaging. But the product sucks

I bought this to control acne, and because it had few harmful ingredients. I’m trying to avoid parabens, rentinol products and formaldehyde releasers. This has done a nice job of clearing up my cystic acne. It also does a nice job of moisturizing my over-40 skin. As for the smell, there’s a slight plastic smell, but that’s what products smell like without the harmful added fragrance. I do wish it had 2% salacylic acid.

This broke me out really bad. I think the whole line of Burt’s Bees “Acne Solutions” just does not go with my skin type at all. I also tried the scrub and it broke me out. I’m not saying everyone who uses this line of products will break out but be careful and stop using if you see new breakouts.

I bought this product in hopes it would help me with my breakouts and blackheads. Although it doesnt claim to treat blackhead I thought the natural antibacterial ingredients might help. I have no complaints about the packaging although it might not be to travel friendly due to the glass bottle.
Now for the lotion itself, it is slightly thick and does not absorb into the skin easily. It took a couple of hours for the lotion to sink in but this wasnt a concern for me becuase I only use it at night and by the morning it is completely absorbed. Now the problem I have with this product. About 5 minutes after applying, my face was incredibly red. My skin is not typically sensitive and I was surprised by the reaction. However I heard it is common for people to be sensitive to natural products. Another downside is that it is pretty expensive for a drug store product.
This product might work for some people who have dryer skin that can absorb the product more easily, and for people how don’t have a bad reaction to it of course.

This moisturizer is amazing. I have been using this product for about two weeks now (in conjunction with the other products from this acne line) and my skin has never looked better. Seriously! I have tried so many different brands of skin care; I have even spent the past two years paying hundreds of dollars for LUSH products that haven’t even come close to making my skin look and feel as healthy as these products do. But this moisturizer? I can’t live without it.
I wear a light “coat” of foundation about 5 days a week, as I am not fully secure yet in going to work in an office without covering up my problem skin. On the weekends, I don’t wear makeup and I have found that it’s slowly but surely making a difference in my skin. However, this moisturizer has a lot to do with that, as well. It’s not oily at all, which I love; but it’s also very moisturizing and works wonderfully under makeup. Before this, I was using a $30 moisturizer from LUSH, and it would cause my makeup to flake off during the day. GROSS. This moisturizer actually brings hydration to my skin, helps control my skin, and works perfectly under my makeup. I have also found that it works amazingly on sun-burnt skin, as well, and it feels so light on your skin. I have also found that this moisturizer has evened out my skin tone. I’m not complaining about that!
Overall, I would recommend this moizturizer to anyone with problem skin; my mom even uses it, and she’s 57 and has perfect skin. It really is the most gentle but effective moisturizer I’ve been able to find. You’ve got to try it!
