The smell of this is intoxicating, and is pretty much the sole reason I look toward my nightly skincare routine. It’s a delicate fruity floral scent, and my SO really loves the fragrance too. It’s aromatherapeutic.
This night cream was included in the ULTA-exclusive Glow To Go kit (which includes tube versions of a cottonseed cleanser, the daytime version of this, an eye cream, and the Beauty Flash balm), and is my second favorite discovery from the kit. My favorite of the entire kit is the Beauty Flash Balm.
There’s a Clarins method to applying their skincare so I follow this to a T: I squeeze a pea-size amount to my fingers, warm it up between my fingers, and press onto my face. I don’t rub this in at all, there are no circular motions involved. I just pat it in. Right after application I’ll keep my hands close to inhale the scent – I really like Clarins products specifically for the botanical scent. I don’t have extremely sensitive skin (I’m used to retinoids and peels), and this doesn’t break me out. The cream is somewhat thick, which is why I warm it up in my hands first, and some skin types might be put off by the texture.
The hydration factor is good, but the best part is that I always wake up to firmer looking skin! Before using this I would wake up with a bloated face, but after using this night cream and the Beauty Flash Balm, it’s not so much of a problem or usual occurrence anymore. I may only be 24, but I’d rather practice preventative anti-aging than having to worry about sagging and wrinkles down the line!
I should add that I don’t think Clarins is for people with problematic skin. Since this product does contain botanical extracts, make sure you’re not allergic to some of the ingredients!

Got a sample of the normal to combination skin version. After application it absorbs rather well and leaves my skin feeling soft. So far so good. The scent however is overwhelming, even irritating and it just doesn’t fade! Even when I wake up in the middle of the night, the first thing I notice is the terrible smell on my face.
The next morning I got my next bad surprise: red spots and pimples all over my cheeks, which I didn’t have the night before.
The second night I gave this product a second chance by applying it very lightly, only the size of a pea for my entire face, skipping my t zone entirely. But this morning I had red spots and pimples again. I could try one last time tonight to see if my skin adapts in the end, but the scent is holding me back. And I don’t expect any sudden changes in the reaction of my skin either. I’m glad I didn’t pay for this, and I will definitely never spend such a ridiculous amount on this mediocre cream. For now, I’ll just stick to my €3 day (or night) cream from Aldi, which is obviously doing a much better job.

I originally wanted I buy a shiseido night cream, but the store didn’t have it. So I went with Clarins.
I’ve used this two nights in a row and have woken up with dry skin on my nose and cheek. For the price of this package, I expect it to completely moisturize my face!!! I am switching back to shiseido.
Update: day 3 i thought maybe I could get through this jar before switching back, but my skin just keeps getting drier and drier with further use. I tried giving it my boyfriend but he said it stung his face. Wth. How does this work for people with eczema??
Going first thing on Monday to get a new cream.

I needed a good night cream to address the aftermath of eczema that literally trashed my face for about 3 months. I had to give up all my acids and retinols for 3 month. I found this did the trick to slowly resolve may patches of dry skin. Lovely smooth texture. Absorbs nicely into my skin. I found it didn’t cause any acne. Skin was visible and textural/tactile less dry. Now that my skin is back to norm, and I have returned to my usual routine, I don’t really need to reach for this cream any more. However if I get a bad flare up of dry patches, I’ll gladly repurchase.

After using an entire jar of this product, I found it nice but didn’t deliver on all its promises.
Pros
-It has a nice consistency, isn’t sticky, and absorbs well. (It doesn’t even stick to my sleep mask at night)
-It does keep one’s skin moisturized over night so I wake up with nice skin. Not all the creams I’ve used do this.
Cons
-the anti-aging promise didn’t deliver. I’ve used both the day and night Multi-Active creams everyday until I ran out of the product. I’ve the same fine lines. That made be a bit disappointed.
I repurchased this just to have a nice night basic moisturizer.

I have a dry-combination-sensitive skin.
Packaging was in a nice glass bottle. I wanted to try this night cream cuz my relatives loves Clarins product however, this night cream left my skin dry few hours after applying it at night and I can feel my dry face in the morning as well. I kept trying to use this for 1 month to see how it goes. Left my face super dry. My face did not want to soak anything from this cream.
Expensive brand but I guess this just does not suit my face. Might be suitable with other skin type.
Will not repurchase this.

I purchased a full jar of this cream after trying a small sample (and thinking it was good for the two nights I used it). It’s quite light (gel-cream like), pleasant to use (easily absorbed), non-greasy and gave you a bit of a glow in the morning. However, the harsh fragrance (though a nice fragrance, it’s still rather strong…) aggravated my migraines, which made it hard to use/keep on my face (the scent always lingers/doesn’t disappear). Also, I HATE the unsanitary jar it comes in. The expensive price tag was another definite deterrent. So due to the strong fragrance, jar format and the high price tag, I don’t think I’ll repurchase.

I have been using this night cream every day for the last month. I’m quite disappointed with it – even though I bought the ‘combination to dry’ version, I’ve still found that my skin is dry and tight when I wake up in the morning. It is quite thin in consistency compared to my previous night cream (by Clinique, which was discontinued). Given the price I expected more, and I won’t be buying again.

I love this night cream. The scent is really nice and not too strong. It absorbs quickly into my skin and my skin looks and feels great in the morning. I also like the packaging and the fact that its in a glass jar. Not sure if it does anything in way of wrinkles but i have retinol for that. It is on the pricey side so i am in search of a dupe but nothing has come close yet. It feels very luxurious.
