This Clinique cream review is for my mother Bc when it was available many years ago it was her favorite go to cream for the cold winter time! It had this rich gel cream texture which was kinda greasy!& I always bought it for her for the winter as a upgrade moisturizer to her usual yellow dramatically different lotion! But there was a big flaw to this nice rich gel cream Bc it’s packaging is in a jar and therefore all the great ingredients will deteriorate and it’s very unsanitary to be sticking your fingers in a tub of cream! So as the Paula b skin expert lady says ” avoid jar packaging ” ! So now I only buy creams in a air tight container

This product is similar in consistency to the moisture surge, however I think it is slightly more hydrating and maybe to some more greasy? that the moisture surge. For me, it is just great because I have dry skin in the winter and I use this to replenish my skin whenever I feel dry during the day! Already used it up in 2 months, maybe I should ease up on my moisturizers!

This moisturizer is amazing for dry skin. I have sensitive and Rosacea skin. My skin gets dry, flacky on the cheeks and chin, itchy and painful sometimes during winter times. I tried this moisturizer for the first time during this winter as a result of a desperate hunting for an effective and yet non-greasy moisturizer. The texture of this moisturizer is very thick and buttery. It however does not feel or look oily on the skin, neither does it break my skin out. All I need is a very small amount on my face after cleansing. It keeps my face calm and moisturized all day. It actually evens out my skin tone and smooths out my skin texture right after use. The best moisturizer I’ve ever tried. The only negative thing about this product is its price. It however does last for a long long time to me.

Last fall, my skin suddenly became very dry and flaky. I was surprised ’cause this wasn’t the norm for me even with the change in season. I was desperate to soothe my skin but there was nothing on hand that would suit my needs. So I went out to buy Clinique’s Moisture On-line. You have your choice in either Skin Type I (very dry to dry) or II (dry combination). Although I break out often, I still chose the former (I told you I was desperate). I’m surprised no one has indicated which version they bought ’cause I wonder if the two types have the same texture and give the same results.
Like some reviewers have said, Moisture On-line feels like a gel. Clinique skincare products claim to be fragrance free, but this moisturizer does have a weird scent. It doesn’t smell like plastic or medicine and it’s not too unpleasant. It’s just weird and hard to describe.
In terms of whether it works or not, it does. My skin very quickly returned to normal; it was no longer dry and flaky. BUT I have to agree with beemoody. My skin was left feeling sticky. It was an uncomfortable feeling, almost as if my skin couldn’t breathe. It’s not sticky like glue à la MAC lipglass, but it’s still perceptible: several strands of hair clung to my cheeks. Just think how annoying it would be if you were walking outside and it was a windy day! Unless you have a pixie…or a crew cut.
As to its other claim that it firms skin, I’m not qualified to be a judge on that.
The positives:
1.) Moisturizes. Immediately.
2.) Didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
The negatives:
1.) Expensive.
2.) Leaves skin feeling sticky. NOT greasy, just sticky.
I wish I can think of more plusses and minusses, but I think that’s it. If your skin is parched and you can live with a moisturizer that sticks with you (haha), then go ahead and buy it. If you’re feeling a bit iffy, try to get a sample or go hunt for a cheaper jar (i.e., ebay and whatnot).
I won’t be repurchasing.

I have very dry skin and have been using this product for 2 weeks now in the PM. It has a nice light scent that is not overpowering. The cream is very rich and creamy feeling and my skin really soaked it in once applied. Some people don’t like the feeling of a heavy cream- if this is you, then I would advise you not to buy this. I do really have very dry skin and this was a great remedy. After using the cream for 2 weeks, my skin is no longer flaky and tight feeling. Also, I have not experienced any problems with break outs, though I my skin is not very pimple prone. I was glad to find out that this does not affect my skin adversely. I plan on repurchasing once this is done, but I do not see this happening for a while. I place little dabs of it on my forehead, cheeks, chin and nose and that is plenty enough. I would change the packaging to a more sanitary form, but that’s about it.

I love this product! I have extremely dry skin, so dry that if I even get water on my face, my face instantly feels like a tight mask. I use this at night after I cleanse and tone and I have seen a huge improvement in my skin! I don’t notice any greasiness with this and by morning my skin still feels smooth and soft. No more tight mask face for me!
My only problem with this is the price, luckily I haven’t had to pay for it yet because my mother had a jar that she no longer wanted (she switched to an anti-aging product) and I am dreading the day it runs out! I have been searching for a cheaper replacement, but I will probably just buy this again because why mess with something that works so well?

dont walk but RUN away from this product!!! by far the worst thing i have ever put on my face. It felt like putting grease on my face, i used it for 2 days to try it out and on the 2nd night i woke up at 3am with HUGE (quarter sized) rock hard cysts all along my jaw line. The burning hot, incredibly painful, hard cysts. It was so painful i had to go put ice cubes on my face — at 3 am in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!! My worst experience with a product i have ever had

WOW! I was really surprised to see how good the reviews were for this product! Words like non-greasy and smooth….I just couldn’t believe it b/c it does nothing good for my face. It is more like a gel than a cream, but on me (combo skin, more dry in the winter) it DOES NOT sink it at all…my face does not feel smooth, but sticky.
I do agree that it is “intensely hydrating” – maybe my skin isn’t enough of a desert to need this product? Don’t know….but i would never buy it and if i get it as a GWP, i would give it away without opening.
OH and i also hate that it is a jar!

I have since stopped the use of this product. I found that after I stopped using products that dried out my skin that I just needed a light hydrating moisturizer that had less chemicals in it. Since writing my first review on MakeupAlley I have tried my best to exclude products that are filled with unnecessary chemicals in it. I’m not going to change the rating, because when my skin was severely dried out, this did wonders on soothing it. However, I honestly believe that you can find a much better moisturizer that isn’t detrimental for your skin in the long run if you just take the time to look for it.

I have to say for dry skin this is a very good moisturizer. Even for combination this is great. When I put it on my face it feels wonderful. It has a gel like consistency and lasts for a good amount of time. Especially when using products that dry out your skin this works wonderfully. At first it looks a bit oily but then it absorbs into your skin and makes it immediately feel much better. Looking for a good moisturizer?…this is it!
