SIMPLY THE BEST MOISTURIZER! I had to write to properly set straight a single review that has not matched my years of using this incredible product. I have used this light and supple day emulsion for a decade and it is the reason I have so many compliments on my skin at 58 years old. I have modeled for Nordstrom and other organizations and need my skin to look as good as possible. I believe I can speak with enough skin experience to know an amazing product find. My mother used this for many more decades than I and she is 79 and her skin looks as though she has not aged a day beyond her first use of it—thanks to Elizabeth Arden’s Millenium Day Renewal Emulsion. I still buy it at a discount and am so afraid I won’t have it for long. I have never had any issues with this amazing light, fresh and supple emulsion. It goes on smooth and light, defeats wrinkles and offers a light moist look. It is never heavy or discolored as the previous reviewer wrote. I have a hard time believing that she is writing about the same product I use to this day and rely on so much. It spreads
like a feather and Makeup foundation glides right over it naturally. I love this product sooo much and know many women who love it as much as I do. It’s breathtakingly gorgeous and smooth to put on!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! It was discontinued sometime between 2010 – 2012 and has since gone rancid but there is still heaps of “brand new in box” “genuine” (which is technically true) stock floating around on eBay, Amazon, and plenty of authentic make up retailer websites. Lots of these places are still selling it for full price but refusing to mention that it’s discontinued so to your average customer it looks like a brand new current product with no issues. There is no expiry or batch date printed on the jar – it only has a batch code.
I bought this brand new in January 2017 from a trusted, established retailer (who also has brick and mortar stores) and thought at first that it was nearly an HG moisturizer because it was incredibly moisturizing and heavy enough to use as a night cream, but light enough to use for the day. It had an extremely strong chemical scent but because the other MUA reviews mentioned a strong smell, I assumed mine was normal. I now strongly suspect that it was a citrus scented product that has since turned so the smell is rancid and chemical. I usually have a strong stomach for scented skincare and prefer them but this is awful. I also had some issues where if I applied a slightly thicker layer than was needed (but nowhere near as thick as other less-effective moisturizers I’ve used) then in the morning my face would be a full shade more brown than what it normally is. That’s not permanent of course, but still… it was rather worrying to wake up and be a noticeably different tone.
I went into my high street Elizabeth Arden boutique in April 2017 and mentioned it to them in passing and the woman there was surprised and told me that she’d been working for EA for thirteen years and that the Millenium range was discontinued “seven or eight years ago”.
I have since done a lot of Googling and discovered just how much full-priced stock is out there with no disclaimer. If you have a look yourself you can find a few reviews and Q&As on eBay/Amazon from 2012 – 2015 where people state it was discontinued years earlier. One of them said that she contacted EA and they told her that their unopened box stock has a shelf life of three years. The little jar symbol on the back of this (which is on every make up/skincare product) says 12 months (once opened).
You can check your batch code at a website called CheckFresh (I won’t link it in case it makes my review get removed). Mine was 5KA1, which I’ve uploaded a photo of. It says that mine was manufactured in August 2015 but that batch codes are recycled every 10 years – which makes me suspect that mine was actually manufactured in 2005 judging by the dates of those reviews and what the EA lady told me.
I feel damn sorry for anyone who actually pays the full $80-90NZD cost of this product just to find out like I did that it’s actually 12 years old and rancid (although not immediately obvious). I am currently talking to my retailer about this who are getting in touch with EA. Luckily I paid a clearance price for it but even then, this product should not be sold and marketed how it is by these online sellers.
On a positive note, this product still works surprisingly well (well… ignoring the awful smell and the fact that it literally changes my skin colour if too much is used) for something that is so old and it has single handedly convinced me to stick to EA skincare because damn, imagine how good their stuff is when it’s brand new
(good, their brand new stuff is really good, their salespeople keep throwing samples at my face because they’re so happy about it and it’s awesome, but I am definitely not touching this bottle again after finding out the truth)

Excellent moisturizer. Light, but yet enough to nourish dry skin. Only downside is perfume presence.
Packaging is ok, but it would be nicer if it was with a pump like famous Clinique DDML.

Pretty decent cream. Not heavy at all. I have been using it all summer, and switching to heavier cream as fall comes. As I do like the way the skin quickly absorbs it, I find the fragranced scent a bit too much for me. The packaging also turned me off a bit, since u have to scoop in to get the cream out. Overall, I’m satisfied with the cream itself.

I bought this at TJ Maxx and really like it. It sinks in well. moisturizes and doesn’t break me out. I use a different q-tip to scoop out a portion everyday so the packaging isn’t really an issue.

I gave my Philosophy moisturizers a break for a while to try this EA day cream. I have very acne prone skin so was hesitant to try this since it looked rather oily. But as long as you don’t use too much, it’s wonderful. You only need a tiny amount, and it soaks in quickly and leaves a great glow. I have no complaints about this product. It did not break me out! I adore the packaging, too – glass jar with a cool spoon to scoop it out. As long as you make sure to wash your spoon every once in a while, it will be kept very sanitary!
