The Martina Gebhardt Salvia line has been a lifesaver for my sensitive skin. It’s the only product that calms the rosacea on my cheeks that looks like cystic acne and it doesn’t cause regular breakouts. People don’t believe me when I tell them I have acne and rosacea since my skin is really clear.
The lotion is really light and absorbs well. It works great as a day and night moisturizer. My t-zone gets a bit of shine at the end of the day but it’s not so bad when I set my make up with powder.
I also use the Salvia cream as a nighttime spot treatment for my rosacea. It’s too rich to use as a night cream for my oily/combination skin.

I have used the MG Salvia lotion for several years and like it a lot. It’s not greasy at all and absorbs super quickly. It has never caused me any breakouts. If you have normal skin or skin that’s a bit oily this is a great product.
The past winter my skin got really, really dry and I found that the Salvia lotion wasn’t moisturizing enough to cure it. I also tried the MG Rose lotion, the MG Ginseng lotion, the MG Rose cream and the MG Salvia cream but those didn’t help either. That’s when I switched to Cetaphil moisturizing cream (which I also wrote a review about).
I don’t know yet if I will be able to switch back to the Salvia lotion or if my skin has changed for good. I like that it’s all natural and earth friendly and stuff but if it doesn’t moisturize my skin anymore I won’t buy it again.

I was introduced to Martina Gebhardt’s skin care line by an esthetician who did my facial, a few years ago.( I am a skeptic when it comes to hippy dippy sounding skin care line, and people that sound too hippy dippy, holistic with no scientific based knowledge).
According to the website that I got my skin care from: Martina Gebhardt Natur Kosmetik, is more than 95% of raw materials from certified organic cultivation or Demeter contract cultivation, Member of IHTK (International Manufacturers Association against Animal Testing for Cosmetics Inc.),
The esthetician told me to try the salvia lotion but I was afraid to try because back then I believed that oil in skin care products will cause breakout. I found out years later that some oils like jojoba oil, olive oil, plant oils that I used to avoid in my 20s does wonders to my current oily combo skin.
The salvia lotion contains olive oil, sage oil, lanolin, shea butter, and coco seed. It really calms my sebaceous glands, balance sebum production, and my skin definitely looks more clear/ smooth, and matte!!!. Along with the sage cleanser as my daily routine, my oily combo skin has been looking great this winter.
The only caveat of this skincare is that: is only available online and it is in a glass container. Price wise is more affordable than Yonka/ Dr. Hauschka.
