This has to be the heaviest, most uncomfortable moisturizer I’ve ever tried. It’s SO greasy and sticky. My skin feels like It’s suffocating underneath. I put some on the night I bought it and it made my skin instantly turn red. I left it on overnight thinking it would absorb, but my face was still sticky and irritated in the morning. I also tried using it a different way the next day by applying a tiny blob to my wet face and then applied makeup on top. It looked AWFUL, like it was just eating the makeup away. I had to wash it all off and start over before leaving the house. This moisturizer was definitely not for me.

This moisturizer feels amazing and goes on beautifully under makeup. I have oily, acne-prone skin and the ingredients in this moisturizer really calm and nourish my skin. I have tried a ton of all natural products that just fell short. But this stuff is the best!
The Keys Island Facial wash and this cream work really well together. I have learned that with sensitive skin you want to keep it simple, don’t waste money on heavily fragranced products that make big claims about what they do for you. Keys is the real deal, is straight forward, no fluff and works. It smells pleasant but it’s from the essential oils that benefit your skin.
I always like to through in that no product will work for your skin if you don’t fix what you’re eating. If you too suffer from acne, stay away from sugar, grains and possibly dairy because it might be a sensitivity for you that you didn’t realize you had. My dermatologist explained that anything which shoots up your insulin levels will cause you to product more oil in the skin and you get clogged and get inflammation.
So for me, along with good food, Keys products work excellently! I think anyone will like the consistency of this cream too. If you’re oily, it might be heavier than what you gravitate towards but don’t be afraid, as you may have heard, drying out your skin can cause more oil production. So be nice to your skin.

I really like this moisturizer. It has very few ingredients, and the ones it has are non-clogging, non-irritating, and non-toxic. It’s very moisturizing. It goes on easy. I don’t know that I notice this luminous effect – I guess they are saying aloe makes your skin look luminous, since that’s the only ingredient that is different from their Tortuga product. But I can’t remember aloe ever making my skin look luminous. The small isn’t my favorite thing; it smells like sage, or rosemary, or whatever food spice is in there. But I only smell it when I first put it on, and it’s easy to get over given that it doesn’t break out my extremely sensitive skin. I will definitely purchase again, and probably again and again, since I haven’t found any moisturizer that has better ingredients. Desert Essence daily moisturizer is next in line but I think I like this better.
UPDATE: After a few weeks, or maybe a month, this started to actually STING when I put it on. Yikes! Another reviewer mentioned that retinol is the first ingredient – not sure how that is because I don’t see it in the list, but if it’s true, I guess that would explain it. I had to stop using it. Maybe I’ll use it once in awhile but definitely can’t use it every day. Kind of scary.

Only recently I have found my skin too sensitive for most moisturizers. Gone are the days of hopping around from brand to brand looking for the perfect product- it is too risky and too often it ends up in the trash. After finding out my recent skin problems are due to systemic lupus- I switched almost all of my face products to Keys, and I couldn’t be more satisfied.
I LOVE Luminos. It is a sheer foundation that makes skin look matte but glowy, smooth and soft. I use it right after washing my face at night, and it makes my skin look great- like nothing I have ever used before. It also works well when you mix mineral makeup in with it. But just as often I use it as a base for liquid foundation. It truly is a huge multitasker, like a primer, foundation and moisturizer- all in one. And like nearly all Keys products (with exception to the MetaCare lotion) the scent is inoffensive and pleasant. As long as they make this- I’ll buy it.

Love the moisturizer – HATE the packaging. I like everything about the moisturizer. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. It has a subtle, clean scent, it is well absorbed, and it genuinely moisturizes and soothes dry skin all day, BUT it is in a plastic pump that usually gives me nothing when press on it repeatedly, and then about one out of every five tries, I get this huge glob that is too much for my face and I end up wasting some. If Keys could find some other way to package it (or maybe just a better quality pump) this would be my favorite moisturizer, but I would not buy it again unless and until they improved the packaging.

This is pretty moisturizing, and smells nice (slightly sweet, not too strong). I like that the company uses genuinely natural ingredients. It really does give my skin that “soft focus” effect. I was previously paying $35 for the Korres Wild Rose Moisturizer (which is also very nice) for 1.4 oz., but I’ll probably be using this from now on, since this is 3.4 oz. for $24.95, and contains even more natural ingredients than Korres does.
Edit: I kind of take back what I said about it being “pretty moisturizing,” because at that time, I was using it with a serum, and now I realized that it was the serum that moisturized my skin, not this. Whenever I apply it onto my skin alone, it feels hydrated at first, but then slowly evaporates, and eventually, it feel like there’s nothing left on my skin. I will continue to buy this, since it gives my skin a glow like nobody’s business, but as for actually moisturizing my skin, I’ll always have to use something else along with Luminos. If only this actually moisturized my skin, then it would be the perfect moisturizer.

Retinol is the first ingredient listed in this product, so please be aware. I liked it at first but over time I think maybe I was getting too much retinol, and retinol doesn’t agree with everyone. It also makes some people more sensitive to the sun. I am not trying to dissuade anyone from using it, just pointing it out, since it’s not listed as an ingredient on this website. Stay beautiful! 🙂

I agree with everything said by reviewer Dollface! Fantastic product with no harmful ingrediients that’s a lifesaver for sensitive skin!! Leaves a nice, non-greasy look on the face–“soft focus effects” as they call it on the label. Downside is it’s not cheap.

I’ve been on a major hunt for natural products due to a new boyfriend with exceptional chemical sensitivities.
The Keys line has been a godsend! Not only is it completely free of irritating, unhealthy, or questionable ingredients (including glutens, sulfates, sulfites, EDTA, etc.), but it’s exceptionally effective in giving my reactive, breakout-prone skin a lovely, clear glow. I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis anymore!
The lotion IS rich, but I’ve had much worse results with other lotions (Olay, Murad, Boots, Aqua Glycolic, Alpha Hydrox). And like I said- I still wore makeup on my face every day while I used those products, and now I just wear eye makeup on the average day.
I couldn’t be more pleased with this product. My skin looks better than it has in my adult life. Yay, Keys!

I used this product for three months during the winter. I have combination skin, but usually like a heavier moisturizer when it’s cold. It contains all natural ingredients and has a nice subtle scent. I ended up finding it a little too heavy. It didn’t cause any breakouts, but no matter how little I used, I still got oily by midday. I would consider repurchasing if my skin becomes drier with age.
