I think I’ve found something that actually works for my dry, red, sensitive skin. The only downside is the smell which disapates quickly and that it isn’t in a tube. I hate jars.
My skin is moisturized and less red. It works the next morning after my skin is peeling from Tazorac and instantly hydrates.
They have sampler sizes at Sephora, which is what I bought to test it. I’ve spent a stupid amount of money trying every new moisturizer that comes out at Ulta and Sephora. I even have The Boomsilk by Cindy Joseph on order.
This is something that truly works. There is a “day” version but since this is working I’m not going to try it.

I have skin that is the actual worst: Combination with an oily T-zone and tendency to dryness everywhere else, extreeeemely acne-prone around the chin and nose, and sensitive in the way that leads to burning and redness with the wrong products. As you might imagine, I’m very hesitant to try any new products, but at 40, I felt like I needed something a bit more moisturizing at night than the Clinique moisturizer I’ve settled on for daytime use.
I remembered that the Fresh Rose Face Mask had saved my skin on a trip during a particularly bad skin freakout/breakout/dryout, so I decided to take a chance on this. I’m actually in love. My skin feels hydrated and smooth, no more dry patches, and most significantly: NO BREAKOUTS. It actually seems to have cleared up a little lingering hormonal acne on my chin. I waited three weeks to review to make sure there wasn’t acne disappointment waiting for me after a couple weeks of happy skin (which has happened to me more times than I can count), but my skin looks better than ever. I didn’t even break out around my cycle this month.
It’s pricey, but for me it’s worth every penny. I knocked a couple lippies off the packaging score because I hate when pricey products come in tubs that are sure to become petri dishes over time, but I’ll manage by using a spatula to refill a smaller container. The packaging is beautiful, though. The color is lovely.

Fresh is always super hit-or-miss for me, and I would say that it is about 50-50. The new FRESH Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Night Cream is a very thick and emollient night cream. I have used this a couple times on dry areas in the daytime, but overall it is much better used in the evening because it is very thick and can leave skin looking and feeling greasy when used in the daytime. This layers pretty easily with many other products with the exception of my vitamin c serum. To alleviate that I waited about 15 minutes in between them so that the serum could fully absorb before applying the Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Night Cream.
The formula focuses more on emollients than antioxidants and anti-aging ingredients. What I didn’t like is that this contains four different fragrance ingredients so if you have sensitive skin this might not be the best option. Lemon Peel Oil is higher up on the ingredients list, and then fragrance, limonene, and citral. Citral is one of the biggest fragrance irritators that I really try to avoid because it can cause sensitivity even in very low amounts.
Overall, I will use the remainder of the cream, probably on my neck and decollete, but because of the inclusion of citral I would not repurchase this. If you are interested my video review can be seen here: Q
