After using Linacare light for a week I broke out in a hot red rash over my face. I’m positive its the dimethicone. My skin cannot tolerate it. Also the jar is not hygenic, and its over priced.

I chose to order the Light version of this cream based on another reviewer’s reco, however it wasn’t enough for me. It was just a little too loose and ineffective for my perpetually dry/combo skin. My skin always looks fine, but can feel rough to the touch, and even when I lathered the Light version on, my skin still had a rough feel. I bet the heavier one is worth a try. That’ll be my next venture. The cream is so loose, it didn’t last me more than 3 months whereas a thicker cream in the same pot seems to last forever and gets more bang for the buck.
I would recommend the light version to someone who is looking for an all around light moisturizer, but not to anyone who is trying to improve their skin.

How do I love thee! This miracle cream was/is the only thing that helped my skin in five years of searching! I can’t find anything even close. I work as a cosmetician and would love to find something in store that worked but so far this is it! I continue to re-purchase. I am also a Vancouver local, which just makes me love this product a little more.

I was introduced to this brand at my spa. It is a very hydrating cream and it’s hard to find in Toronto. I have both the light version and the regular version. The regular version is a bit too intense for me but it will prob be great during in the depth of Canadian winter.
You can only buy these at certain spas and hospitals downtown as it’s used for chemotherapy. That’s how strong it is!
The light is perfect for me and I use it day and night. I find it to be too oily sometimes but that’s just the summertime. Winter time it’s perfect! It is a BC-based company and you can buy from their website as well.
Overall, it’s a great moisturizer that not a lot of ppl know about but I am glad I was introduced to it!

I have pretty dry, sensitive skin that always seems to be “thirsty” for more moisture no matter how much moisturizer I put on. This cream is very good, if not the best (that I’ve used so far), in retaining moisture. Previously I was using Dermalogica’s intensive moisture balance and I thought that was pretty good, but this is better. It makes a pretty good primer for makeup too. I’m also surprised this is made in my hometown (Vancouver, Canada)! Price is more than what I’d like to pay for ($67 w/taxes in), but it works and I would def. recommend this to all dry skin ladies!

I use this during the day. (the non-light one) And I use base glaxal, which I love at night. This is really reallly amazing. It makes my skin feel really…healthy, moisturized. It sinks in easily. Easy to spread, feels a tiny bit cooling….cause it’s water based? i have no idea. A little goes a loong way. Which helps because it’s 1.7 oz for around 60 canadian dollars. If it lasts me at least 5 months I would be pretty happy. It’s currently winter so my normal-dry skin is a bit rougher to work with. I have rashes (seasonal) and this and my base glaxal keeps it under control. Added on with my ddf cleanser…my skin is soft glowing, and this has not broken me out. In fact, my skin is absolutely perfect and this just stretches it to the extra mile. LOVE. cannot come more reccomended.

This is the best moisturizer I’ve ever experienced! The reviewers below say it better than I. I use this at night (usually after my AHA has soaked in/dried) and I wake up with the most amazing skin in the morning–NOT a freakishly oily mess (as I have freakishly oily skin). It wears well under makeup; has an elegant texture, and makes my skin look amazing (which is HARD to do!!). I use the Lite version.
The Pro is that it’s perfect!!
The Con is that it’s on the expensive side, and only available from it’s source in Canada (www.Linacare.com). I’ve had excellent customer service from Lincare and fast shipping. I just wish I could afford to use it ALL the time. The closest thing to it (that I’ve come across) is CeraVe, except that CeraVe is not nearly as moisturizing as this is. However, the texture and non-shiney finish of the moisturizers are very similar. I use CeraVe in the summer.
I can’t recommend this enough! Oh, buy a packet of of beauty “spatulas” at Sallys–as this is a jar.

My dermatologist had me on the La Roche Posay Biomedic regime and while my skin was not breaking out as much, my skin became so dehydrated and tight. I don’t know if I looked worse being dried out or worse breaking out. I decided to try the Lincare moisturizer in the ‘light’ version. It’s been a couple months now and I have no regrets whatsoever. The moisturizer sinks right in and is not greasy. No new breakouts and mineral makeup looks great with it. Don’t like the jar though. I just use a new Q-tip every time. Would totally recommend this for oily skinned, breakout prone girls. It’s a Canadian company based in Vancouver also. Great service…received my parcel in two days and they even have a great return policy if you are not satisfied!

I wish I could give this even more than five, because I believe that this moisturizer is curing my acne. I have oily combination skin and hormonal breakouts around the chin and jaw line – red, inflamed and painful. I started using this moisturizer in the light formula about 2 months ago. I use a small spatula to remove a tiny amount from the jar and apply very sparingly, dotting it onto my skin and then smoothing it in with my fingers. This formula absorbs, replenishes, takes away the after-cleansing tightness and smooths my skin’s surface roughness. It does NOT clog my pores, aggravate my inflamations, create an oil slick, contain irritating ingredients. I switched to this product and an SLS-free cleanser, continued with a micro-exfoliant once a week, ditched my SA and other acne treatments, and in two months I have skin so supple and lovely that I almost don’t notice the acne scars that had accumulated before I found this moisturizer. I’m not exactly sure how or why my acne has decrased, but I suspect that this product is helping to balance my skin and prevent an over production of pore clogging oil. The problem of finding the perfect moisturizer to do this has been solved!

I love love love love love this moisturizer. This product was suggested to me by the staff at a local beauty boutique. I have combination skin so i have an oily t-zone and small dry patches from time to time. This moisturizer takes care of those dry patches while keeping my skin nice and soft. I had a crazy acne breakout from stress and this product did not further break me out at all. If anything, it allowed my skin to heal! Currently, I’m on my 3rd jar and will continue to purchase in the future. My only complaint is that it comes in a jar–so unsanitary.
