I knew this had a high amount of alcohol before I checked the ingredients as you can clearly smell the alcohol. I personally don’t prefer creams with such a high amount of alcohol. Also creams with perfume. This has both so I won’t be purchasing.
On the positive side though, while the ‘illuminating’ part is not as high as the tinted illuminating creams, this does leave a little light finish. Not greasy-looking, just indeed ‘illuminating’. And I liked it has some not very commonly seen ingredients like Black Tea ferment. I would purchase if it wasn’t for the perfume and high amount of alcohol.

I got this at Shoppers Drug Mart for about $34. One of the consultants pointed it out to me. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks and I’m not sure exactly how I feel about it. It has a weird texture (like little lumps) which I’m presuming comes from whatever is inside it that sucks up all the oil on your face. Once it’s on, you don’t see the lumps, it just kind of melts into your face. It doesn’t really feel like a moisturizer but more like a primer. It says it’s supposed to be illuminating but I don’t see any shimmer or shine on my face from it (which is fine by me). If you have rough patches I recommend putting on a heavier moisturizer on those bits as this will not smooth them out. I think I’ll repurchase just for the fact that my face is not shiny within a few hours and seems to hold the oil at bay for most of the work day.

First of all, I love that this is in tube packaging. I hate using my fingers in a jar. This is ideal for combination to oily skin, as it has a matte finish and is a light gel cream. It makes my skin feel great. I feel it improved the look of my pores and fine lines. It’s hard to find anti aging products that are made for oilier skin, so this is a really nice product to have.

Turned on to this by a sample at a Belgian drugstore (Vichy is a drugstore brand in Belgium). I used to have combo/acne-prone skin (see my profile) but at 46 I now have normal acne prone skin, and I never use face moisturizer unless I’m putting on foundation. This product absorbs greaselessly into the skin and has subtle luminescence, not the sort you can see easily but the kind that just evens out small imperfections. I am using it now as a primer under foundation and it is marvelous – doesn’t cause shine breakouts midday or streaks or anything. I even used it the other day after washing my face just to go to the grocery store. To be clear, it doesn’t offer any coverage, just a smoothing, light, matte moisturizing feel. Another bonus is it has a few silicones but not in the first 5 ingredients, so I’m happy given how hard it is these days to find products without cones! Will update after a month or two if it breaks me out, but since I don’t use it every day it’s hard to tell.
