Wanted to love this but sadly couldn’t!
i have really oily skin and this one balanced it, paired nicely with any makeup I wore
I stopped using it about a year ago when I kept getting deep whiteheads on my upper lip area. thought it might have been because my skincare routine wasn’t great back then, so i gave it another go and brought another tube (£14!!!! ouch)
Anyway, this was an expensive mistake. The painful spots on my upper lip have returned, plus a few nasty surprises everywhere else. Don’t know what’s in this that could be causing it but looks like it isn’t for me 🙁

I have the one with spf in it
Tho spf 20 is too low, i really enjoy this one on windy rainy days
It so light and leaves no whiteness
Doesnt also clogg my pores nor cause me break outs
But im not really sure bout the hydration part

I use the Hydrance Optimale riche version of this. Bought this one accidentally one day… worst mistake ever! I don’t know what it was but it really did a number on my skin, drying and irritating it – crazy I know.
After researching it I found that the only ingredients this has that the riche version doesn’t are:
BUTYLENE GLYCOL
CARBOMER
POLYMETHYL METHACRYLATE
SUCROSE DISTEARATE
SUCROSE STEARATE
So it must be one of those… in any case this cream was terrible for my skin.

A little on the expensive side, but pleasant enough to use. Provided my skin isn’t too dry or dehydrated, this is a nice daytime moisturiser for combination skin. Sinks into skin nicely, providing a good base under make-up while not feeling too heavy or oily. As with most of Avene’s line, this doesn’t aggravate my adult acne nor cause sensitivity issues. Good in summer, when fewer layers of products on the skin are preferable – it’s got no special active or reactive ingredients in, so I put a couple of drops of some of the Ordinary’s serums into this and apply right after a humectant lotion. It doesn’t split or pill and feels quite fresh on the skin. I do like this, but I’m struggling to see why it costs quite so much. Generally, I tend to buy the skin recovery cream instead even if it’s a little heavier, because it’s hydrating enough to use at night as well and has a special lid dispenser designed to minimise contamination inside the bottle, so at least I feel the price is somewhat more justified.
That said, I do find myself buying it again when it runs out. I think it’s partly that a lot of cheaper brands put a crapload offragrance, irritants, and other nasties into their moisturisers and I at least know this one won’t disagree with my skin.

Perfect for me. I have combination skin with occasional acne. I always had a hell of a time trying to find a moisturizer that hydrates but does not clog the pores or break me out. It’s a super gentle product, so great for sensitive, allergic skin. Not sure this would work for bad cases of acne or oily skin though.

This is my favourite moisturiser!
I’m 33 and I have combination, sensitive skin with acne flare ups and dry patches. I’ve tried SO MANY moisturisers and spent a small fortune trying to find one that doesn’t aggravate my face. I tried this on the recommendation of my grandma who is nearly 90!
I’ve now been using it for 3 years and it has definitely made a real difference. My breakouts are far less frequent and my skin feels soft. It’s not sold as an anti-ageing product but this moisturiser has definitely improved the overall tone and texture of my skin.

I have the rich and light versions. I like the light version but i feel its a bit tacky for my liking. This will suite normal-oily skin types
I like using when its all summer or when weather is all moist and hot. But for colder season i would get a more hydrating moisturiZer
This light version didnt give me irriation or acne. It has no scent which i like the most

I have gone through numerous tubes of this moisturiser and it is definitely my HG day cream. If you have normal to combination skin this moisturiser will be fab for you all year round, however if you are more dehydrated or dry then it might work better for you in the hotter months.
It is quite lightweight but still hydrating without being greasy. It has a slightly mattifying effect but your skin still looks fresh and plump. I do find as i’m getting older and my skin is getting more dehydrated that I need a bit more on the really cold days in winter however for summer this is perfect. It sits perfectly under foundation too!

I used this everyday and it has lasted ages so is worth the money, it’s super light and doesn’t feel greasy at all. I have the UV legere and it worked really well as a sunscreen too. The only issue would be that it doesn’t moisturise very deep. Overall however a really good product which I would definitely buy again!!!

I was attracted to this moisturizer because it actually boasts zero comedogenic ingredients, without being all silicones. That is extremely rare. I do find the price a bit high seeing how this is a basic moisturizer with no magic or promises, but if it works, it is probably worth it. The one I have doesn’t claim to be mattifying, but it doesn’t make my skin shine either. I am unsure about how I feel so far. I used this for a week with satisfactory results, but then my skin became very irritated (possibly from a BP product), but I did not feel as though this was able to hydrate or soothe once my skin was flaking and irritated. I want to believe this was not the cause of irritation or caused breakouts, but other poster reviews saying their skin seemed to become irritated after a time raised a red flag. I will have to trial again once my skin is feeling on track before saying for sure. I am using Avene Cleanance Soothing Cream for the last couple days, and that seems to do a better job of moisturizing my flaky, irritated skin, but I think too heavy for twice a day. I will post back with results.
