Loaded with alcohol and smells like a straight up perfume.
Hey L’Óreal…how about bringing your skincare game to the 21st century?
selfishCoconut9
1. Has a horrible Masculine Perfume / Gillette Aftershave scent.
2. Watery gel like consistency.
3. Loaded with alcohol, has a Moderate Stinging Sensation & dries very fast.
4. Made my skin Irritated, Red & Itchy.
5. Does not Moisturize in any way.
6. Damaged my Skin Barrier & Caused Minor Pimples.
7. 72hr Hydration is a Lie.
8. Does not Mattify & caused my Combination Acne Prone skin to become Oiler.
9. Can’t be Returned or used for Skincare, ergo it’s Trash.
10. All Benefits / Claims on the box are FALSE.
Conclusion : Terrible user experience, a SCAM & WASTE of Money.

Got a sample and tried it.colorless gel like consistency but overly perfumed.i didn’t like the scent it’s cloying and smells like cheap aftershave cologne for men.
I used it both day&night time.in day time it didn’t make my skin oily but i didn’t feel like it is moisturizing enough either.gave my skin matte and soft finish.i tried the leftover from the sample before bed after bath.my skin gets tight after shower and this didn’t calm down my tightness.and next morning i woke up with 2 pimple on my chin area.i wasn’t pmsing or on my period.i am sure this lotion would broke me out if i use regularly.
i won’t purchase it even the texture and the original size bottles look nice.ingredient list way too long.heavily fragranced, contains cones, paraben.

A few months ago, I wrote a rave review for Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream. Now, however, I can safely say I’d take L’Oreal’s Hydra Genius over PTR’s expensive moisturizer any day (sorry, PTR!).
I enjoy basically everything about this moisturizer: the packaging, the scent, the consistency of the product, and the performance. I don’t usually care too much about packaging, but I have to say L’Oreal did a really nice job with this product, which comes in a weighty glass bottle with a pump. The packaging makes this feel like a luxury moisturizer. It was also a logical choice for the consistency of the product, which is very gel-like. In brief, this moisturizer does exactly what I want it to do: hydrate my skin while controlling oil. It sinks into the skin quickly and keeps me matte all day. It also sits well under makeup. Bada bing, bada boom.
One thing that may turn some people off: While I wouldn’t call this a heavily-scented moisturizer, I wouldn’t want it to be any more scented than it already is. The scent isn’t overwhelming, but it’s definitely there, and a faint little aroma lingers throughout the day. So if you REALLY dislike or cannot tolerate scented products, this may smell a little too strong for you. However, I like the scent of this moisturizer, which really just smells… nice, in a clean sort of way. It isn’t floral or sweet-smelling. If I had to compare it with something, I might say it evokes aftershave a little bit. It doesn’t smell particularly feminine or masculine, though. I think anyone could get away with smelling like this.
Lastly, the price. I paid $14 for this at Target and saw it selling for $19 at CVS. Honestly, it’s kind of pricey for a drugstore face cream. But I have to say this is one of those rare, RARE expensive-for-drugstore items that’s actually worth it. I’m not usually willing to pay for high-priced drugstore items; depending on the item, I’ll either go with a cheaper drugstore option or pay $10 more to get something really good at Sephora. I am happy enough with this moisturizer that I am willing to pay $14 for it… but you could probably get the job done for less. Probably. I’m sure I could have when I was young(er), but then I turned 25 and my face decided to hate EVERYTHING that had worked for me for years. FML.
So, anyway, if you were curious about this moisturizer but put off by the high price, I say it’s worth splurging on. It’s good for oily but not-16-anymore skin that can’t handle intensely drying, anti-acne products anymore.

On first use was just ok, the texture was a bit weird and my face got oily much faster than usual. On second use my cheeks and forehead got red and my face started being itchy. Such a waste of money…

I decided to purchase this yesterday. I had ran out of my mary Kay and needed a replacement. After some research online and listening to some suggestions From here I decided to try this brand. I purchased it at CVS for roughly 20USD.
Packaging – This comes in a nice heavy glass bottle. A lot classier looking than a plastic tube. I like the pump on and it’s easy to get the amount you want. Some pumps it’s all or nothing.
This gel feels really nice when applying and it sinks in just about immediately. I didn’t feel any residue. That smell tho. It’s rather strong but doesn’t upset my stomach. After awhile you don’t smell it anymore. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at the mattifier. This really helped keep my oil production down and I am usually a slick very shortly after cleansing. Even when I wake up in the morning I could ring out my face and cook a basket of fries but this morning my face was minimally oily.
I’ll keep this post updated as I use the product.
UPDATE: The next morning when I awoke my chin was totally broken out. I know it’s a reaction because of the type of breakout I got. Had to discontinue use. Grrr the search continues. I’m not sure if it was the high alcohol content or the stuff they used for that heavy fragrance 🙁
I gave this product one more chance the next day. Why do I do this to myself? It was a big mistake. Five days later and my skin is still healing. I returned this to the store where I purchased.

I recently switched from an expensive name brand moisturizer to this one & am SO glad I did. I have combination, sensitive, acne prone skin. My skin doesn’t react to this (as in allergies or pimples). I love that you get a lot of product for not too bad of a price. I docked it one lippie because it has a strong fragrance, which I’m not a huge fan of.

I have rosacea and am taking antibiotics. I don’t know if it’s that or an unrelated issue, but my eyelids have got dry and flakey, although the rest of my face is fine.
I wanted a lotion rather than a thick cream to use as a day cream, I have a separate SPF so that wasn’t important. From the description, I expected something that would go on, sink in, and leave my skin plump and refreshed. The reality was a bit different!
So, the good things. I like the texture – it is light and milky and sinks in quite nicely. The packaging is really pretty although I always prefer a plastic squeezy tube so I can get the last dregs out. As a moisturiser, by skin does feel moisturised. It doesn’t look shiny. It hasn’t irritated round my eyes (I do avoid the area though).
The not so good. This is very heavily scented, and tbh I’m surprised it hasn’t irritated my skin. I normally try to stay away from fragrance, especially in skincare. I didn’t read the ingredients but I can believe it has alcohol in it which is just a big no no. I’d rather wait longer for it to dry. When it dries, it feels a little tacky, which never goes away. But, it just doesn’t do anything amazing for my skin.
I was really hoping for a moist, plump look and feel after I’d used it and tbh my skins feels like it feels when I use any cheap lotion. I won’t buy this again.

I received a sample in the mail during the one day that I ran out of the house without applying moisturizer. Luckily (or so I thought) I saw this sample in my mailbox, and proceeded to apply it before running to work. This moisturizer was thin, absorbed easily, and had a slight stinging sensation upon initial application. It proceeds to get worse and worse, and my face felt wet/oily, but incredibly itchy, irritated and red as the day wore on. I was constantly scratching my face, and really miserable. I washed my face at the earliest opportunity, and it was such a relief to be rid of the product!
For reference, I have combo/oily skin during the spring/summer months.
I cannot recommend this product based on my experience.

My favorite moisturizer! I’m extremely oily/acne prone and this adds moisture without a filmy residue or shine. I love the gel formula and the fragrance. The glass bottle is nice also. If you sensitive to fragrance you may want to avoid this one. It is a tad pricey for a drugstore product but you do get 3.04 ounces so that’s a plus. Will repurchase
