Deborah Mitchell Heaven – with its ‘Abeetoxin’ (a natural alternative to botox) is quite a big deal in the UK and some other countries. Naturally I couldn’t help purchase some of the products when I was in London earlier this year.
The Youthful Moisturiser is amongst the last products that I’ve gotten around to using. It’s touted as being suitable for pretty much all skin types. Personally I found it leaves a slightly dewy if not oily finish, however the clever thing is that it is not greasy, as in pore-clogging acne-causing greasy. The texture is a very light lotion that pretty much gets absorbed straight away, but leaving behind that slight oily sheen that I mentioned.
The great thing about this moisturizer is that it’s pretty much totally natural and doesn’t cause my skin any issues. What I don’t like about it (and the Heaven brand in general) is that each product is presented as a multi-tasker and literally made for all skin types, this one included! It is also supposed to help get rid of blackheads, whilst closing and reducing pores, yet I don’t see any ingredients in the listing that could achieve those claims and neither do I find it helps my skin with those issues in the slightest. And speaking of ingredients there are a few essential oils, including lemon which slightly puts me off using it on strong sunlight days. It would be good if the packaging or website stated whether the lemon oil in here is steam-distilled (not phototoxic) or cold pressed (phototoxic).
That aside, a simple and efficient moisturizer that quite unusually does not cause my skin any issues whatsoever, even with long-term use, which is a rarity in itself for me.
