This is just an okay cream for me. It doesn’t really do anything for my skin, it’s kind of moisturizing but not really. It’s not too thick but not lightweight . It could work under makeup, but it wouldn’t be my preferred cream to use. I didn’t like using it during the day so I instead used it as a night cream for a couple weeks. It actually kind of stings my face a bit when I first put it on, but it goes away very quickly. I think this is just an eh moisturizer. I’ve tried better, I will finish up the jar but I won’t be purchasing it again. On the plus side it doesn’t make me breakout! And the smell is pleasant, not too strong.

I LOVE this moisturizer! It’s perfect for dry winter skin and gets rid of all the dry patches. I use
Retin-A so my skin gets super dry and flaky and this really helps.

I have just purchased my second tub of this face moisturizer. I have difficult skin; it can be dry and flaky, but it is also sensitive and acne prone if I use pore clogging products. So this product, which is marketed for combination, sensitive, dry skin in cold or dry climates is what I decided to try. I’m glad I did. It absorbs well leaving no oily residue, did not clog my pores or cause a breakout, moisturizes well, and does not make my skin itch or burn. Because this is the first face moisturizer that literally checks all my requirements, I have repurchased. What I really wish was different is the container. The only reason I’m not totally bummed about the tub is because I’m able to use every drop of product, which at $18 for 1oz is important to me. My first tub was used up in about 5 months using it every night and some mornings beneath a SPF moisturizer. I’m able to use this under makeup with no issues, but I mostly use at night, although I think it’s marketed as a day cream. Unless it doesn’t perform in winter (would still use in other seasons) or if I find a cheaper alternative, I’ll be continuing to purchase.
Update: I am facing some dryness as of now, and am probably going to try the chamomile night cream from this line to up my night moisturizing routine for winter. I will say I have not experienced any flaking, itching, or burning, it’s just that my skin simply isn’t hydrated and smooth to my liking. This is still an excellent cream to layer during the day under the spf 30 from this line for added moisture.
Second update: I’ve pretty much deemed this my HG face moisturizer. I tried a few others when I had a hormone change and began to see my skin go from slightly dry to slightly oily and was so disappointed with the few I tried. This babied my skin back to where it was before and I’m sticking with it. I do not have any issues with oil using this, which really tells me this is what my skin loves.

My holy grail moisturizer for every night and on winter days. It absorbs fast, not oily but makes my face supple and hydrated. I put it on at night and wake up to a smooth and supple skin. Love it. I don’t use this on hot days under makeup because it will make my face oily. So much better than other expensive moisturizer. I will cry if they ever discontinue this, lol

Great thing is, it does what it says it does. A matte finish, but hydrating cream. Absorbs quickly and makes skin feel supple not greasy AT ALL. Evens outs my skin which has a slight redness to it some times. A little expensive but worth it to me because I haven’t found anything like that works. I don’t like that its in a jar for sanitary reasons but I just make sure to wash my hands before I use it!

I was a little disappointed with this product. Bought it at bluemercury, where the SA seemed to know what she was talking about. I told her that I have combination skin with some very dry, flaky areas, and I needed a moisturizer to keep my face from drying out under my makeup. I wanted something similar to what I was using — the moisturizer jar from Ahava for extra dry skin — and I ended up with this cream. It’s not as thick as the Ahava, but it does have a better smell. The jar says that it is supposed to be good for winter months, but I really didn’t experience this. It also made my skin feel a little sticky when I put my foundation over it. I will probably save this one for the summer when I wear less makeup. It wasn’t bad enough to throw out.

I love the Ginseng Cream. I have acne prone skin and I have been using this since Dec. 2007. It can be sticky when first applied, but after, your skin is radiant for hours. I am purchasing my second jar. Its very affordable and worth every penny.

MB Ginseng Moisture Cream gives a very thick and emollient but very matte finish, and that’s a tough combination to come by. I like it for days when I’m not wearing any makeup – it makes my skin look better and feel richly moisturized while being matte. Slight warming sensation, but no problem. Ideal for dry or mature skin for a natural youthful look without makeup.

I just finished my first jar and I think this is the perfect light but not oil-free moisturizer for oily-combo skin. It’s a no-brainer for me, and I love that it doesn’t have SPF b/c that can feel so heavy. I use MMU anyway so I don’t necessarily want additional SPF in my moisturizer. This never clogged my pores or caused any breakouts of any kind. It was recommended to me by my Mario Badescu facialist, who knows my skin. It’s also really inexpensive and lasted me about 3 months. I am going to rebuy next week.
EDIT: it was all fun and games until the smell changed on my 2nd jar…then I started getting breakouts all over my face. I stopped using it and my skin cleared up. GET RID OF THE JAR! LOSE THE JAR!!!!

I really cannot believe this got bad reviews! I use it after my Buttermilk Moisturizer in the Winter months, because my skin loses all its moisture in this harsh cold climate. I love the gel-like texture and the fresh scent. I seriously have no complaints about this at all. It doesn’t break me out and I only need a little dab on my dry spots.
