The packaging is excelent: opaque and with a pump to avoid contamination.
The price is good too, like all of Frutique’s. The bottle lasted me 8 months which is good too. Oh and the smell is very nice.
However, this product doesn’t work at all. I’d like to say it’s mediocre, but it’s really less than that. It’s just a cream that you apply in your skin and it does nothing. You’re paying for nothing.
It’s not just that it doesn’t brighten. It’s that it lacks any effect. I don’t even think this thing moisturizes at all. You’d get more moisture by applying vaseline or by cleansing with dove soap bar.
It didn’t cause me any bad reaction, never broke me out, etc. So I can’t really complain about that kind of stuff. But I will never buy this thing again because it’s a waste of money.
TL;DR: Don’t buy this.

I’ve been using this cream for 2-3 weeks, and I’m very happy with it. It’s supposed to moisturize, brighten, and even out the skin with licorice and citrus ingredients, and since I’m not part of a clinical trial or the like, I can’t tell for sure if my skin is more “clear” since using the cream, but my skin texture is soft, and I personally think it looks lucid and even.
I really like the texture of this cream because it’s a dense gel/cream that applies softly and feels refreshing, not watery or greasy. The smell is also pleasant – light citrus, so it’s fun to apply and makes the skincare routine feel more luxurious. I can even apply this under my moisturizer/sunblock, with no greasy or sticky results. This product just melts into and binds with the skin, making it feel soft and hydrated. My foundations (liquid or powder) apply very well over this product, as well.
Unfortunately, I’ve developed uneven sunspots, despite wearing tons of sunscreen and a hat every day, so I don’t know if the Brighten is helping with that problem, but I have not had breakouts, stinging eyes, or oily skin since using this product. My daughter also uses it and loves it, which is saying something because she has not been happy with any other moisturizers, as they either stung her teenage skin or made it feel coated and unnatural. The Frutique line is the first skincare I’ve found that she will happily use every day, and I’d recommend Brighten to anyone who wants a gentle, softening facial moisturizer.

This is my new HG night lotion. I use glycolic peels and a retinol serum so I was looking for a natural yet non-acidic nighttime lotion. Something strictly moisturizing. This line seems to fit the bill. They have several different lotions so I settled on this one because I have a few age spots on my cheeks that I’m trying to diminish. I really don’t have a problem with wrinkles yet, once I do, I may try the apple lotion. This one is also great because it comes in a pump (YAY!) This is nice because it moisturizes, brightens my skin, and contains mostly natural ingredients. Will try more from this line as I need it.

UPDATE:
I need to give this more credit given that I have just purchased my 3rd bottle of this. Having oily skin, daily daytime moisturizers are always trouble trying to find something that serves with anti-aging good-for-you skin benefits, goes well under your makeup and WON’T LEAVE YOU GREASY! This achieves all 3. Girls who are oily, and not break out prone/sensitive to Algae Extract, this is worth giving a shot. I would have given this 5 lippies if they added spf into it. In terms of brightening in my case, it is hard to say if it alone has served in brightening my complexion due to fact that I do weekly chemical peels, retinol at night etc… but my skin looks great so it certainly hasn’t hurt it. I will continue to purchase as a daytime product until another “miracle” product I develop a lemming for comes out.
Skin type: Very oily with occasional break-outs.
This is a nice, fresh, citrusy smelling light moisturizer that seems like a cross beetween a serum and a cream. I can’t picture this to be moisturizing enough for dry skins. I’ve also read that Algae Extract (the 5th ingredient in this product) can cause havoc on acne-prone skins so if you’re prone to acne, this may not be for you. However, I’ve used this for 12 days straight in the daytime incorporated with my serum and sunscreen with no break-outs at all. In terms of brightening, I haven’t really noticed but my skin does look good. For me, it’s just enough moisturizing for my skin type. There is no spf. I got this on sale for $10 at Sallys and the size (3.4oz) is generous. I would possibly re-purchase given it’s nice and light, smells pleasant, and as long as I don’t start breaking out. Although I don’t notice it doing anything miraculous. I’ll likely end up trying another moisturizer before this bottle is gone.
