I’ve been using this moisturizer for about 4 months now and my facial skin is loving it. Started using in the colder weather (UK) and currently I’m living in a tropical weather country, and this moisturizer is still doing its job very well. The consistency is not too thick and spreads easily. It is also a good base before using makeup (I skip primer when I use this as moisturizer) – in both colder and humid weather. So far, no breakout caused by this product. Highly recommended for oily skin and daily makeup user.

I really love this product. I am lucky that I do not break out very often, so usually I just need a moisturizer like this for my oily skin to help mattify my skin and such. This works in spades. It has a silicone texture to it and it goes on like a dream. It helps tame my oily skin throughout the day and minimize the look of my pores. This is a wonderful product!

First Impression: I really like this product. A little really does go a long way. my skin feels moisturized without that slimy feeling I sometimes get with richer moisturizers. It comes in a 40ml tube and, as I said, a little goes a long way so it does last a while. The lotion itself is white but not quite opaque.
My pores aren’t overly large so I’m not sure if they look minimized, but my skin doesn’t look shiny for a little but once I put it on. I’m not expecting it to keep me from being shiny all day, I have pretty oily skin sometimes, but it feels nice and my makeup goes over it very nicely.
Update: After wearing it for a whole day under my makeup, I have to say that I am very impressed. It’s been 13 hours and my skin still looks/feels fairly matte. My makeup didn’t melt off my face or get weird around my nose like it usually does. So I am super impressed. Yesterday I didn’t wear any makeup and it was weird because my skin didn’t feel slick like it usually does when I moisturize, but didn’t feel tight at all through the day. I am going to keep using this until my dying day…or until my skin changes because unfortunately that is a thing that happens.

It does work in making your skin feel matte, but not really more effective than a mattifying makeup product would. It has a temporary effect. Does not irritate my skin, though it does have a rubbery texture, and is lightweight. I do love that the packaging is decent and product is still affordable

This is a really good moisturizer for oily skin. It mattifies the skin, but you may need to use powder or primer throughout the day, as in my experience it doesn’t make the skin look matte all day long. It comes in a travel friendly tube, and to me the price is reasonable compared to other products. My skin feels nice and clean when I use this after cleansing and toning. I mainly use this in the day.

The only positive things I have to say about this moisturize is that it comes in a simple and travel friendly packing, it feels alright on the skin (not the lightest formula but also not heavy or sticky). But it is far away from being a mattyfing moisturizer, actually it produces even more oil. I have also noticed that it creases…actually it is kind of weird, it seems that after a while it melts on my face and visible white flakes appear on my face.
Overall, if you have oily to very oily skin and you are looking for a mattyfing moisturizer than I would not recommend this to you.

I’ve been using this product for years now. I have very sensitive, acne-prone skin. My face is no longer oily at the end of the day and I have less whiteheads since using it. It doesn’t seem to help with the blackheads though, but it’s the best moisturizer I’ve tried so far.
I’m using it in the morning and then using Effaclar Duo before bedtime.

I’ve been bouncing between various moisturizers depending on the season (hot and sticky summer or cold damp winter) and what shape my skin is in (congested and breaking out, with major shine, or basically normal). Finally, a reasonably priced moisturizer that keeps the oil in check and provides a light, matte finish. I enjoy the delicate scent as well.
Somewhat surprised that there’s no SPF protection, but I’d rather add another product than sacrifice the superb texture and finish I get with this product.
Holy grail? Too early to say. But Im definitely impressed, and will for sure be repurchasing!
Side note; I use this with the gel cleanser from the same line, as well as a cheap micellar water that I’m really liking. This is the best my skin has looked in ages, and I’ll be sticking with this combination! The only change I can foresee is adding in a clarisonic when my funds get better ????

Excellent moisturiser for oily-combination skin, better than many on the market (and I’ve tried a good few, including high end products).
Pros: Excellent value for money. Unlike many moisturisers targetted towards oily-combo skin, this one does deliver hydration while mattyfying your skin at the same time. What is more, I feel that even tough the mattifying effect doesn’t last long (for me it’s up to an hur max on my T-zone if I use this moisturiser on its own), it contines to keep my skin hydrated throughout the day. The consistency is very light and it absorbs into the skin quickly.
Cons: It does leave a slight demi-matte cast on your skin. It’s barely there but it does mean you can’t use a primer on top, because if you do (and add a foundation to the mix) you will just create a thick, unattractive layer of products.
Also, if you’re really oily, the mattifying effect won’t last long. Having said that, I feel that the role of a moisturiser should be to moisturise and keep the level of hydration balanced, more than anything else. A lot of moisturisers marketed for oily skin fail to do that, looking only to mattify. This can be a big mistake, especially when you combine this approach with using a drying cleanser / toner. It will just trigger your skin to produce even more sebum in order to compensate for the lack of moisture and will make your ‘oily problem’ even worse.
This moisturiser combined with a hydrating serum underneath or with a primer on top can be too much creating an unattractive layer of products. It is a great if you use it on it’s own (following toner) or as a base for a foundation (no primer). This makes it an ideal product if you want ot be super quick in the morning.
If you’re looking for something that you can layer on top / underneath other products, try O HUI Clinic Science Full Medi Moisturizer. It’s an excellent, super lightweight product that doesn’t add any more layers while hydrating and helping keep your sebum production in check.

A lovely packaging as with other products from La Roche Posay! Gentle scent and applies really well – felt lightweight and left me with a notion that this could work on me.
I have a acne prone skin that’s on verge of being combination, but more on the oily side. I use acne treatments on my spots, so I have some dry spots.
That said – Efaclar Matt Sebo-regulating moisturizer does work good on my dry patches, but on the oily areas – it’s too heavy. I get extremely shiny after 4 hours of using this (and usually I tend to be oily, but never shiny!!).
As this is rather pricy (19 EUR) I won’t repurchase. It doesn’t sit well with my make up also.
I will def. try some other options to keep my skin hydrated.
