This is one of the products that Avon has collaborated with The Face Shop. I’ve only been using it a month, every couple of days, so if there are any changes I’ll come back and revise this review.
As a fan of Korean and Japanese skin and hair care products, I was interested when my Avon rep told me the company was going to be coming out with a collaboration with The Face Shop. They’ve done similar collaborations in the past, most times the products were okay, nothing to really write home about. I think this time, they’ve finally gotten the message that their customers want and don’t want. I was honestly wondering when or if Avon would jump on the bandwagon and am glad they have.
Now, on to the cream! It’s somewhat thick and has a strong scent, so if you’re not a fan of scented products, this might not be for you. It sinks in nicely, especially if you gently pat the areas you’ve applied the product to—at least that’s what the directions say! I kind of massage the cream in, then press my palms on the spots I’ve moisturized for a few seconds.
So far I haven’t had any breakouts, but I only use this cream a few nights a week. Since I alternate it with other skincare products, that might be why I haven’t seen any breakouts. It’s a bit heavy for younger skin unless you have bone dry skin and live in an arid environment, but for those of us who need a bit heavier cream, it’s pretty good. I don’t use anything other than a light serum or nothing underneath, I’m not sure how well it would play with actives, like an AHA.
It’s packaged in a nice, heavy glass jar with a spatula for scooping the product out. I personally don’t use one but for those of you who do, it’s not a wimpy little piece of plastic, it’s pretty hefty! And it does make an excellent cat toy for those cats who don’t chew up plastic items but use them as hockey pucks in midnight hockey games!
I hope Avon doesn’t crap out and stop carrying this new line [I’m going to be sore about them nixing their mark line for a very long time] as I like what I’ve tried so far.
