A simple product done superbly well, at a fantastic price! If you live near a Daiso, go out and buy this!
In case you couldn’t tell, I am extremely enthusiastic about this gel cream. I bought it on a whim and I’m so glad I did. It’s very moisturizing, which isn’t so remarkable for a moisturizer. But for US $1.49, it’s a tremendous bargain! For the past week I’ve been aggressively treating a bad acne outbreak with benzoyl peroxide and acids (azelaic, salicylic, and various AHA’s). Normally my skin would be extremely irritated by now, especially from the benzoyl peroxide (it’s the only thing my skin is really sensitive to). But diligently applying this product (with some squalane layered over it) has kept my skin in good condition. I’ve actually been able to use benzoyl peroxide twice a day without irritation, which is amazing!
In spite of how hydrating it is, it dries to a non-sticky finish, even in humid weather. And it’s great layered under other products, even without a moisturizing toner underneath. It really sucks in water-based products, helping them dry faster. I haven’t noticed any pilling, although that probably depends on what you use it with.
The main reason I’m in love with this gel cream, though, is that I managed to get a mild sunburn on my arms — painful, but no blisters. (Turns out staying in the shade isn’t always enough of a precaution.) And this moisturizer feels really great on my sunburn: it’s very cool, soothing, and pleasantly wet before it dries. And it’s fairly lubricating, too.**None of this is medical advice! I have no medical education.** But my experience is that it’s great right now.
