It is quite mattifying, but still moisturizing. Good for combination skin. I use a matte primer on top of my moisturizer, and it didn’t make much of a difference with this one.

This is a terrible face cream and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. One of it’s main ingredients is alcohol and it dried out my face terribly. I only used it twice and I plan on throwing it in the bin. I know Botanics is not the best quality for skincare and I only got this for the spf but it’s not worth it even for the cheap as chips price. Olay has much better moisturizers for similar prices.

I have such a hard time finding any kind of cream/lotion/gel to moisturize my face. I am VERY sensitive to 99% of products out there, it will make me break out immediately so I am always very afraid to spend since I always end up throwing it away.
I went to Target today and found this. I heard great things about it from this lady who swore by these products and looked amazing beyond words for a 57 yr old woman ( I am 30).
I played with the tester for a hot minute. The gel went right onto my skin without any annoying greasy residue. I bought it, took a shower when I got home and tried it on my fresh cleaned skin. AMAZING! My face did not break out, it did not stress my skin, it made my skin look good and the texture of this gel is absolutely awesome.
I am eager to try out every product of this line little by little. If you are super sensitive to lotions, creams and most leave you with a gross shinny face which is prone to breakout after you apply most lotions, do try this!
Very gentle, smells good and it wont make you break out.

It’s okay. Does not mattify my skin. I hate the packaging! Will return back to target!

This new repackaged (in a cheaper looking plastic) and most likely reformulated Botanics range is not doing anything for my skin so far, and this one is probably the worst one.
First off, I’ve applied this one after using a serum after a reasonable amount of time. The constistency was goopy, with tiny scrub-like particles (?). Five minutes later, the gel started coming off in flakes, something that never happened to any cream I’ve used before. Thinking that it might be because of serum, I’ve applied it the next day on cleansed skin and nope, still the same. Sent this back to Boots customer care – whether it’s just a bad batch, or if they really got the formula, I don’t know and don’t really care. Obviously enough, would never buy again.

This cream is from the newly rebranded Botanics skincare range. I believe it is a replacement for the sensitive oil free moisturiser, which I am sad is no longer available as I really did love that. However I am fairly pleased with this moisturiser- it definitely helps to mattify my skin and lasts all day. The texture is quite gloopy, being a gel, but it is very light and absorbs quickly. However I do find that if I rub too much then it rolls up and can leave little flakes, but if applied properly it’s fine. I think it works by leaving a sort of film on the skin so don’t work it in too much. I was also very happy with the price-£3 odd- as it was on offer for a third off. It’s still reasonable at full price. The pot is pretty big so I reckon it will last me a long time also.
