This is a totally beautiful and luxurious rich cream. Goes on smoothly and leaves skin feeling well hydrated, plumped and firm. I love the pleasant smell of this.
It is definitely a luxury item moisturizer but I really do think its worth the price.

This cream has a very unique kind of texture. Despite many reviewers who thought this was lightweight, I actually feel like it’s quite rich and thick, like it’s very concentrated. In any case it absorbs immediately, is SUPER moisturizing without causing any breakouts. I call it a “softener” because it really does soften my skin and gives (especially on the edges of my eyes and forehead where I am started to develop some fine lines) a “soft focus” effect, which is wonderful.
Here are some negatives: It has a thick and almost gooey kind of texture, and leaves my skin feeling heavy, and I don’t really enjoy that feeling as much as other lightweight moisturizers like Clinique Moisture Surge or DDF Ultra-Lite Dew… perhaps that’s the price I pay when the lightweights don’t get the job done! The other downside is that the whitening aspect is very slow and almost unnoticeable. Sure my skin looks bright and healthy at application, but I don’t believe there is that much long-term effect of “brightening” or “evening out” the skin. In fact I basically stopped expecting it to treat my discolorations and use it purely for when I need my anti-aging moisture perk about once every other day.

I have never used this moisturizer before but my family in the late 80 s did! My aunts were obsessed by buying all shisheido products Bc they all felt that the quality was there Bc it was Japanese && I remember during that time in the 80s anything Japanese was hot ! LOL be it a camera ????Or television ???? set it was better suited for Asian skins! We are a Chinese family!
& I clearly remember that my aunt originally started using Clinique & felt it was too harsh for her & she thought ???? it was cheap stuff! So she & my other aunts all started buying only shisheido products during bonus time @ all those shisheido Chinese boutique stores!
& they would buy this particular bio performance cream costing so much money ???? thinking ???? wrongly that the more money ???? they spent on their creams the better it must be! But my aunts were nice &use to buy this cream for my mother also!
& I told my mother that this stuff is not better than
Clinique & in fact it’s bad Bc it’s loaded with perfume & fragrance!????& I had her just stick to the Clinique creams I had bought her! I think ???? @ that particular time Clinique was very popular with their turnaround creams which my mother liked & their moisture on line which was her winter ❄️ cream!
I told my mother shisheido is ripping you guys off ! The beautiful jar costs more than the cream inside! ???? & the reason why you people think ???? it’s better is Bc they put in all these silicones inside it to make it feel like silk & smooth & add in a beautiful fragrance & it’s all just sensosemsorial with no substance

Used a sample of this and wow!! soooooo moisturizing and glowy. Makes skin so soft. A little goes a long way and perfect as a night cream. Don’t know if I can afford to buy it though :((

Alas, I love this moisturizer. My poor wallet.
My skin is combination, easily dehydrated even in the summer. This moisturizer is so rich, creamy, yet sinks into my skin easily, without stickiness, tackiness, heaviness. There is a fragrance, but it’s very light to me, and does not linger long. I have yet to find a more affordable dupe.

I have grown to love this moisturizer over the past year or so! I find that many products either cause breakouts or do nothing in terms of hydration. BUT the first time I tried this which was a year prior, for the first 8 or 9 days my skin looked amazingly glowy and dewy but then the breakouts started. I was so disappointed! I decided to try it again a year later since I am dryer now due to menopause and lo and behold no breakouts. I have never been able to achieve the glowy, dewy look I got the first time around but at least it keeps my skin from getting parched to the point of looking like the floor of a desert and I can slather it on without breakouts. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect products that will give me that elusive glow so I’ll keep looking and experimenting but for now this will do.

I got a very generous sample of this product, which I used up completely, but I won’t purchase the full size. It’s a really good moisturizer for dry or very dry skin, but I’m afraid a lot of beneficial ingredients break down due to the jar packaging. My other problem is that it has a very strong frangrance. I’ve read a lot of times that perfumes are called an ‘old-lady smell’, but this is the fragrance which fits this category the most for me.

I have combination skin, and luckily I got this as a sample to use as it would have been a very expensive mistake! I found it very heavy on my skin, and even though I only used it at night, the next day my skin remained greasy which wasnt good for my makeup (basically it just disappeared as my face got more and more greasy as the day went on despite powdering!) It also slightly irritated my eyes (made them watery/red) However, this cream was great for redness as it really soothed my skin and even reduced any upcoming spots that I had! But sadly it was just too rich for my skin type.

I purchased this cream following MakeupAlley good reviews. I’m glad I bought this moisturizer. It has become my HG facial moisturizer!! (I was using for more than 10 years the 3-step system by Clinique and was quite happy with it, but I was recently feeling like my skin needed something more). Its texture is quite rich, so I was a bit scared at the beginning, since I’m acne-prone and have combination skin, and I prefer gel-consistency moisturizers. Despite few blemishes starting its use, they cleared up fast and I’m pretty sure the cream does not clog my pores anymore. Its smell is superb, like most of Shiseido products. I use it twice a day after the serum; I found it works better than using it only at night. In the morning, it gives you a special glow which I adore. I apply sunscreen afterwards and I’m ready to go! The cons are: a) it’s pricey; b) not-friendly packaging (it comes in a non-hygienic jar even with opening instructions, since it can be a bit troublesome for the first time you purchase this… and in my opinion, a tube would be far more convenient); c) it does not last a long time (a 50 ml jar lasted me only 3 months!). Would I repurchase? For the moment yes… (I’m still thinking that Clinique different moisturizing gel, which is way cheaper and was my former moisturizer for the last 10 years, it increases my mild adult-acne/bumps…). Note: I’m thinking of trying also the sibling restorative cream and compare them.
