Wow… this is pretty amazing stuff. It is very moisturizing but not greasy, and I love the airless pump container. The only drawback is that the jar is kinda big, but I don’t hold that against it. Tarte hadn’t impressed me with skincare before, but this is a very nice night cream for me. I don’t get any fragrance from it and that’s a plus in my book. I hope it sticks around longer than most Tarte products do; they’re prone to not keeping things around for long. I don’t see oily skin liking this at all, or maybe even normal, skin. If you’re dry or very dry, I think you should give this a try.

Tarte has been impressing me lately. Their skincare products are becoming a viable portion of their success. Tarte Cosmetics started out initially focused on obtaining a share of the makeup market, but they could also become a serious contender in the skincare business as well. Tarte’s Youth or Dare Multi Acid Vitamin C Serum highly impressed me (to the point where I have added it permanently to my routine). Tarte also recently released a Micellar Magic Makeup Remover and Cleanser and that one amazed me as well. When I saw this new moisturizer, I had to give it a try.
First off, I will say that this moisturizer seems to be a bit more geared towards those with normal-dry skin. It is ultra hydrating, and I could see how those with more oily skin could find this to be a bit over the top. The Baba Bomb Moisturizer sets to a radiant finish and does take a minute or two to fully absorb. I used this in a variety of ways, and in a variety of positions in my routine and it seemed to work well in all of those. No pilling with the exception of one sunscreen I layered over it- and this sunscreen is one I’ve had some pilling issues with before so I think the issue is more with the sunscreen than with the Baba Bomb Moisturizer.
The other issue with this moisturizer is for those with acne prone skin. The Baba Bomb Moisturizer has several ingredients which are known comedgenic ingredients, such as: butylene glycol, olive oil, palmatic acid, stearic acid, avocado oil, sorbitan oleate, and myristic acid. If you are prone to breakouts I’d be careful with this moisturizer and keep and eye out for potential issues.
I absolutely love the fact that this moisturizer is fragrance free, alcohol free, well packaged, cruelty-free, and affordable! This crosses off the majority of my concerns with any skincare product. I do think the moisturizer is well-formulated, however it kind of lacks a super star ingredient. Babassu is nice for hydrating the skin, but other than that it isn’t the most exciting ingredient.
