With combo/oily, mild rosacea, very clog prone skin I am liking this so far! My skin likes niacinamide so not a problem for me. I needed something very gentle to use under any spots of flaky areas (Retin a user) under daily sunscreen (EltaMD UV Clear). It’s not terribly moisturizing so to buffer Retin-a I use CeraVe lotion at night but that’s too emollient for me even in small areas during the day under EltaMD sunscreen. This serves the purpose that I bought it for. The PM Moisturizer seemed like it would be too thick for my needs. Dermstore has frequent discounts.

I actually use this as a night time moisturizer since I use the Elta MD UV Clear sunscreen during the day and find that moisturizing enough. This is one of the few moisturizers I’ve found that truly has no scent and does not irritate my combination, acne-prone face and also has the right ingredients to do my skin some good. I believe the formulation is superior to the PM moisturizer. It’s not greasy at all which is perfect. I’m on the fence about whether or not I’ll purchase this again since there are so many products out there that I’d like to try. But I can easily see myself coming back to this in the future.

I’ve been “learning” about moisturizers recently, because I never really used one regularly. I love this one! It has such a silky, light texture, and it seems to energize my skin. It doesn’t feel greasy and it plays beautifully with my EltaMD SPF46. I have the EltaMD PM moisturizer, too, but I’m not as fond of that one. When I run out of my PM I’m going to use the AM one for AM (if needed) and PM.

This is the only moisturizer that I can use on my dry, breakout prone skin; I’ve tried several, from the French pharmacy brands of Avene and La Roche-Posay to Korean skincare, such as Laneige, to the popular drugstore products like Cerave. I’m not sensitive to cyclopentasiloxane but am highly sensitive to coconut and olive derivatives, which cause clogging, then long-lasting cystic hormonal acne. For anyone who reads skincare labels, it is near-impossible to find a moisturizer without coconut or olive derivatives. While I do use the highly recommended melting balm or post-procedure balm by Elta on nights when I use a straight vitamin C serum, it doesn’t provide enough moisturizing for me. This is perfect for the summer, though mostly I use it in the winter, when I layer it under SPF. I go through one bottle in three months, which is a bit short for me, but it’s absolutely worth it — I have nice moisturized, non-scaly skin without breakouts, and the results are cumulative, rather than short-lived. I’ve repurchased several times and am hoping that EltaMD won’t change its formulation. Overall, the EltaMD line is exceptionally high quality and completely worth the bother of ordering online or finding a dermatologist/esthetician that carries it.

I lovelovelove the Elta melting moisturizer. It has changed my dry, sensitive acne-prone skin situation markedly in the last year (see my review for it for more details on that one). But I can only use it as night because it is not built for under makeup, so I was hoping the brand’s AM moisturizer would be good for daytime.
THE GOOD:
Packaging is clean, nice. Pump dispenser is great.
Consistency is pretty good, absorbs really quickly, adds some dewiness to makeup base without making it slide off.
No noticeable fragrance.
Provides a good, light degree of moisture.
THE OKAY:
Price – I got it for $18. This is mid-range price IMHO but the product is high quality.
THE BAD:
Stings eye area a bit
Caused my sensitive skin to become irritated (minor rash and itchiness) after just a few uses
Also caused minor breakout situation
So in the end I had to ditch it pretty quickly. I’ll stick to my nighttime elta I guess!

I have combination skin with mild to moderate acne. I am on a constant search for the perfect moisturizer that is rich enough to keep the drier parts of my skin hydrated and flake free, but not so rich that it clogs my pores. I am a full time student and don’t have a ton of time for a makeup crisis in the morning (i.e. primer or foundation flaking or pilling). Elta MDs AM Therapy is a great lightweight base that will keep your skin hydrated and flake free all day. It comes in a convenient and sanitary pump bottle. It works best with my primer (I usually use a silicone based primer) if I only used 1 pump for my entire face. It didn’t make my acne worse (it didn’t improve it either). Overall, it gets the job done.

I have oily skin, so finding the right moisturizer is a bit of a mission for me. Gel moisturizers are better for oily skin, but they aren’t very hydrating . Cream moisturizers hydrate my skin, but break me out and make my oily skin worse. I generally like EltaMD products, so I thought I would give this product a try. Although it’s a bit on the pricey side, the benefits are the best I’ve received from using this product are worth it.
The moisturizer itself has a sort of gel like consistency, but it’s not a true gel. The pump to dispense the product is nice and I can control how much product to use. Believe me when I say a little goes a long way. I don’t even use a full pump, but it’s enough to cover my entire face. When I apply to my skin, it feels like it’s being completely absorbed. My skin feels soft and supple.
Over a span of six months I’ve noticed my face is less oily than it normally would be if I use a regular cream moisturizer. Before I would have to blot my face as soon as I got to work, again after lunch, and once more before I went home. Now I don’t blot my face at all during the day (this changes when I switch up fdtn’s). And my face is definitely hydrated. I use it both in the morning and night on my face, neck and décolletage. One bottle is $30 and I buy every two months. To some, this may be too expensive. However with the benefits I have experienced with this product, I say it’s worth every penny.

A couple years ago I tried the EltaMD PM Therapy Facial Moisturizer, but it clogged my skin and caused breakouts. I ignored the EltaMD AM Therapy Facial Moisturizer until recently when I decided it give it a chance. Unfortunately, even though I can use the first four ingredients without any problem in other skincare products, somehow this moisturizer still manages to clog my skin. I’m quite disappointed because it is otherwise a nice moisturizer that doesn’t irritate my skin and isn’t overly expensive, especially when I can get it with a 20% off discount.
