   What a weird looking cream. It’s an odd beige tone, not like foundation, more like putty. I checked the list of ingredients and there is caramel in it, I assume to make this look like it’s the mushroom extract contributing to the color, but honestly, why the added color? Looks aside, instead of being a thick cream it actually feels more like a whipped mousse/cream. With only 29 ingredients in it, this cream can pack a punch. I tested it out against Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream (41 ingredients – contains alcohol and silicones) and have to say I prefer YTTP because there is no situation of pilling under makeup, it is moisturizing, and doesn’t leave skin feeling tacky if using as the last skin care product at night. The price is steep, as are the rest of the products by YTTP, so I’m not sure this would be an ongoing frequent purchase for me. I got a deluxe sample size in a small glass jar with a Sephora order so it was enough to test out over a full week but I wouldn’t mind a mini of this if it was available for purchase.

   I’m a huge fan of this brand and received a little foil packet sample of this with a recent purchase. This is the first YTTP product that has disappointed me. It may well be that because there was so little product in the packet (seriously – I was barely able to get much cream out at all) that it was difficult for me to get a sense of whether or not this product had any good qualities, so YTTP including this probably was counter-productive for me. I need to ask for a proper sample at Sephora so I can give this cream a fair try because I really wanted to like it but as it stands….I wasn’t impressed.

   I got the sampler kit and have been slowly making my rounds through the products. This reminds me a ton of LUSH skin drink (half the price). It’s the same color as skin drink and even smells similar. I had to look up the ingredients for both and honestly I was shocked they weren’t more similar. They are similar enough though. Both have aloe vera and nut butters. Lush uses cocoa butter and YTTP used shea. Both have natural fragrance. YTTP has anti-aging touted actives like reishi mushroom and ashwaghanda extract, but I mean it has to have *something* to justify the insane $60 price tag. Also with the clear jar housing, the actives won’t be beneficial with constant light and air exposure. I dunno. It did provide a fair amount of moisture, but all things considered I would just reorder lush skin drink if I was in the market for this sort of product.

   The promise of skin soothing awesomeness everyone else seems to have experienced made me buy this despite the ridiculous price tag. The ingredients list looked lovely, it was fragrance free, all of the stuff I look for in skincare. Unfortunately something in this cream irritated me nearly every time I used it. I tried it with my usual routine. I tried it as a stand-alone (as the brand suggests) after washing my face but would eventually have to layer something heavier (an oil and/or CeraVe ointment) over it. I tried it sparingly. I tried slathering it on heavily. Maybe it was simply not heavy enough for my eczema prone winter skin? In the end I did finish it up. I’m not sad that I tried it. But I will not be repurchasing.

   This cream is AMAZING for rosacea flare ups and eczema, but I noticed that my face breakouts TERRIBLY
   with it. So I only use it for emergencies when my skin is having a severe flare up or dryness.

   EDIT: I used it for an entire week and developed horrendous acne!! Huge blackheads, cysts on my forehead and whiteheads on my chin. I had to throw it away immediately. DO NOT BUY for acne skin.

   This cream has been an absolute godsend this winter. I had a bad reaction to a serum and this is the ONLY skincare product I could put on my face for a week as everything else made my skin burn. Add that to the fact that it moisturizes like a dream and you have one heck of a great product. I recommend this to everyone, and especially those with sensitive skin.

   I received a generous sample of this with a Sephora order and am very impressed. This cream hydrates beautifully, plays well with my sunscreen and foundation, and doesn’t irritate my skin whatsoever. No added breakouts as far as I can tell.

   The price is a bit steep but my tiny sample lasted me ~1 week with twice daily applications, so you get your money’s worth. I don’t love the tub but I do appreciate glass over plastic.

   This 2 oz moisturizer retails for 58.00 dollars. Lightweight mousse like consistency of this moisturizer is a dream to apply. Goes on non-greasy but moisturizers so well. I use this product both day/night without any issues. Daytime before applying my BB cream and nighttime as my main cream before oil and after serum. It layers well and does not pill on skin. I have used this product from summer to winter without any problems. On my second tub so this is huge for me.
   Edit – I have normal to dry skin depending on the season with redness in my lower cheek area. I love this so much lasts about 8 months and I repurchase during the Sephora VIB Sale. I always try to find a cheaper version but always come back to this. Purchased my 3’rd tub 🙂
